In May, I had the great privilege of delivering the commencement address for the University of Minnesota College of Science and Engineering. It was an incredible moment to witness the next generation of leaders stepping into the spotlight! We find ourselves on the brink of an extraordinary era, as technological innovation is reshaping the world as we know it. It's an exhilarating time to be part of the STEM community, with limitless opportunities for innovation all around us, and I’m filled with optimism for the new graduates as they enter the next phase of their life. Here are excerpts from my speech from the Mariucci Arena at the U of M campus – a hockey arena, of course!  

Exciting times at Medtronic Peripheral Vascular Health! I was glad to visit with the team last week, alongside Karen Parkhill, Sean Salmon, and David Moeller to talk about the future of the market and our innovative technology that is positively impacting patients around the world. I’m proud of all they have accomplished and optimistic for the future. This team is innovating and solving problems to achieve the right blood flow through less invasive and more effective technologies. Keep up the great work, PVH team!

Being a dad is the greatest honor and best adventure of my life. A lot may have changed since these photos were taken, but the pride I feel from being a father to these two hasn’t. Happy Father’s Day to all the dads and father figures!

Great to be in Washington D.C. last week to join fellow AdvaMed Board members in meetings with elected officials and key stakeholders. Thank you for your leadership of the AdvaMed Board, Peter J Arduini, and helping shape a future where advanced technologies can continue to transform healthcare.

Earlier this month, I visited with Georgetown University students who were embarking on a two-week journey to visit several of our Medtronic sites and learn more about our business, international affairs, and how we tackle complex global issues. Each time I connect with students who are entering the workforce, it reaffirms my belief that they are poised to contribute to our global business community in new and unique ways… as evidenced by the tough questions they asked! 🤓 I’m excited for this next generation to continue to make a tremendous impact on the world.

Today, U.S. colleagues are remembering and honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. I am grateful for the bravery and dedication of servicepeople around the world, and I want to give a special thanks to those within the Medtronic family. #MemorialDay

Today, we issued financial results for Q4 and FY24, which came in as a solid year for Medtronic. I'm grateful for our employees around the world who have worked hard as we continue to advance our comprehensive transformation. We’re seeing the momentum generated lead to strong results, and I’m even more excited about what we can achieve in FY25 and beyond.
