Last year, Kids Helpline responded to nearly 30,000 calls from Queensland children, but we know more kids are reaching out for help, so this money will be critical in ensuring there is someone there to answer the call. In 2022, Lifeline Australia received over a million calls from across Australia of which, 18 per cent were from Queenslanders – that’s nearly 200,000 people. That’s why today I’m so pleased to announce that both these important services will receive $24 million - $12 million each - to continue the critical work they do to provide quality mental health support to Queensland. This funding will support the expansion of their call centre capacities and support Lifeline to deliver face to face services in local communities. yourtown
