What is the one thing that all super connectors have in common?
They have put themselves in a unique position within the value chain of relationships where people want to send intros their way.
Letting your network work for you is how your rolodex and value compound.
But the question is, how do you do that?
Those who understand relationship building understand that you need to start with adding value.
You earn trust and respect by giving before you get.
When you build a reputation as someone who offers significant value to your network it makes it extremely easy for other people to think of you when they want to make intros for someone.
To make this extremely clear:
Jeff meets Paul for the first time and wants to add value to Paul so he intros Paul to Ben. Why?
Because he trusts Ben will be able to help Paul solve his greatest challenges.
Imagine having 10 Jeff’s sending intros to Ben each week.
The network compounds. 10 more people in the network and 10 more skillsets that might be helpful to the next group of people brought into Ben’s world.
The network only gets stronger, the value becomes greater, and the superconnecting only becomes more powerful.
But again, how do you get started with this?
The answer - find something you’re exceptional at and do it extremely well to the point that other people want to extend it to their network.
For me, it’s been community building.
I love bringing people together to help each other out and if one attendee brings a new friend, the network gets stronger and everyone wins.
I didn’t come up with this quote, but it’s one I truly believe in, “a rising tide lifts all boats”.
Help those around you win and good things will happen to you.
