In case you missed this whilst at IFAT a couple weeks ago, the UK's Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) look likely to approve Pennon Group Plc's acquisition of SES (Sutton and East Surrey Water) from back in January. What's critical here is that Pennon have agreed to provide separate reporting information for SES from the rest of its water businesses; the CMA were previously concerned that losing SES's data would make it harder to estimate cost allowances and set service quality targets across the industry. Ultimately though, is it a good idea for companies such as Pennon to own more than one Water Utility in the UK? #waterindustry #waternews #utilities https://lnkd.in/exUResA8

As I write this and reflect back on the past 12 years, I am reminded of our humble beginnings. MRB was formed in Irving, TX in 2012 in the garage of my first home. My first “desk” was in the master bedroom of my 1800 square foot house. When we started the company we didn’t have any fancy business plans or great ideas on how to scale the business. We operated off of hard work, perseverance and God’s great grace and mercy. Early on times were tough, and the days were long. I was my own book keeper, estimator, project manager, etc…. If a job needed to be done I never turned down business. I was involved in every single deal and would generally work 6-7 days a week. We didn’t have formal SOP’s, or KPI’s. Hard work and grit kept us going. We knew early on to create a competive advantage in the market we had to separate ourselves from the competition; the question was how? We quickly learned not to say no to anything, and no job was too small. We realized many things which took zero talent would prove to be the tool that would give us an edge on our competition. Effective communication on every project, and clear concise plans proved to be the recipe for success. We knew if we could out communicate our competition and ALWAYS answer our phones we could gain and retain customers. This approach, coupled with a high level of quality control and a safety first mindset proved to be the winning formula. Over the past 12 years I have learned many lessons. One of the most important lessons I have learned along the way is you gain more from your failures than your successes, and you truly do miss every shot you don’t take. I have also found that hard work and determination trumps talent, and you can achieve anything you set your mind to. While things are different than they were when we first started, MRB still operates off the same principles we had 12 years ago. We now have “brick and mortar” locations in Texas, California and Florida, and other satellite offices throughout the country. This growth has only been made possible by having one of the best managment teams in the country who have proved to be the lifeblood of MRB. It is only because of the great people who call MRB home that we have been successful. Our talented team has allowed us to attract and keep great clients. Our clients have in turn become great friends over the past 12 years, and through this we have forged lifelong relationships. I am forever grateful for everyone who has helped contribute to making MRB successful over the past 12 years, and I look forward to what the next decade will bring. Cheers to wrapping up another record Q1, and rolling through another Q2! #thinkBIGandDreambigger Casey Sneed, RRO Eric Walund Michael Ludwig Kelly Lea Charles Cross Chris Perry Brenda Alvarez Trent Lacefield Jose Espinoza Sean Konrad Taylor Bird Justin Kelley Andrea Heckelsberg Hise
