It's not just a language; it's the bridge that connects us all. Making Bangla the official language ensures inclusivity and transparency in our administrative processes. ๐ In Foreign Communication: Why not showcase the beauty of Bangla on the global stage? Let's weave our linguistic tapestry into international relations. Bangla can symbolize unity and cultural richness, strengthening our diplomatic ties with the world. ๐ Beyond Emotions, a Practical Step: This International Mother Language Day, let's transcend sentimentality and take a practical step towards immortalizing our language. Let's not just remember our martyrs; let's honor them by making Bangla the heartbeat of our nation โ in every written word, every spoken conversation, and every official document. Together, let's write the next chapter of our history, where Bangla stands tall as a beacon of unity and strength. ๐ Happy Mother Language Day! ๐ Our mother tongues are not just a means of communication but a vital part of our cultural identity. Many of us live in places where our mother tongue is not the mainstream language and many struggle to maintain and pass down our mother tongues to the next generation. Celebrating linguistic diversity also means recognizing the importance of preserving and promoting heritage languages. Supporting heritage language education ensures that future generations can connect with their roots, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of their cultural heritage. Please read and share the Global Call to Action for Heritage Language Education, initiated by the Heritage Language Global Think Tankโa collaboration of academics and practitioners: https://lnkd.in/d72hSibw The Call includes an easily accessible list of recommendations designed for all stakeholders, ranging from students and mainstream schools to policymakers. Celebrating My Mother Tongue: Language as Identity, Regardless of Recognition Today, on International Mother Language Day, I join the celebration with mixed emotions. As a refugee, I don't have a language officially recognized on the world stage. Yet, the language my mother taught me, while lacking international acceptance, holds a significance no official status can replace. It's the language of my childhood lullabies, of whispered secrets, and of shared laughter around the hearth. It's the language that carries the weight of my heritage, my culture, and my identity. Even without international recognition, it's a language steeped in love, resilience, and the strength passed down through generations. This day serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of preserving all languages, regardless of their reach or influence. For every language is a unique tapestry woven with stories, traditions, and the very essence of a community. While I yearn for wider recognition for my mother tongue, I find solace in knowing its true value lies in its power to connect me to my roots and my loved ones. In this spirit, I hope and believe that in the future, all languages will be acknowledged and celebrated, enriching the global tapestry with their distinct threads. Until then, I will continue to cherish my mother tongue, keeping its flame alive for myself and future generations. #InternationalMotherLanguageDay #LanguageDiversity #RefugeeVoices #HopeForTheFuture #rohingya #refugeesupport #languages #languagematters
