Harvest is undeniably the most crucial stage in the journey of marijuana products, be it flowers, oils, or any other form, before they reach consumers. However, achieving the best crop condition before the harvest involves extensive planning and pre-harvest preparations. This preparation applies to indoor, greenhouse, and outdoor cultivation, each presenting unique challenges.

Over the last couple of months, we have been doing several experiments with our biostimulant Stimplus+. One of the latest biggest successes involved the cultivation of watermelons 🍉 We grew 122 watermelons, one batch with Stimplus+ (2L/Ha and 4L/Ha) and one control group without. The results were impressive! Firstly, the watermelons exhibited exceptional growth, with the largest one reaching 14.5kg (!) Key findings: 1️⃣ Brix content: the highest Brix content was recorded in the 4L/Ha group with 10.1%, while the control group lagged behind at 6%. Brix, indicative of sweetness, soared above 9.0, signaling exceptionally sweet watermelons. 2️⃣ Total yield: the highest average total yield was observed in the 2L/Ha Stimplus-treated group at 46.81kg. Subsequently, the 4L/Ha group recorded 32.9kg, whereas the control group trailed with a modest 17.01kg. These results underscore the efficacy of Stimplus+ in enhancing crop productivity. 3️⃣ Fruits per plant: an average of 5 fruits per plant was observed in the 2L/Ha Stimplus-treated group and 3 fruits per plant in 4L/Ha, whereas the control group yielded 1 fruit per plant. This emphasizes significant impact of Stimplus+ on the number of fruits produced per plant. 💨 Notably, all these remarkable results were obtained in the challenging conditions of windy Lüderitz! #agriculturalinnovation #watermelon #KelpBlue #biostimulant

If you propagate more plants than you need and vegetate only the best tissue cultures, clones, or seedlings, you will be able to select the very best vegetating plants to transfer to flowering. This tip sounds obvious, but the many growers I have heard from who employ this practice unanimously agree that it’s better to have more choices than fewer. While this requires more space and costs more to cultivate plants that you may not use in the end, the additional labor, time, and expenses are worth growing the best possible plants. Thoughts?
