ECOS Daily HighLight⚡️
12.6.23
Spent some quality time last week with
EnergyUnited
Electric Cooperative’s Line Crews in NC, sharing our Lineworkers Safety and Tool Competence, presentation.
Originally scheduled for 2 hours through Mr. Jerome Monaco, CUSP, Safety Manager, with EU, but they agreed to an additional 30 minutes for more in depth Tactical Safety, Tool Competence, mixed with a little Psychological Safety.
Afterwards, I discovered that EnergyUnited’s CEO, Mr. Thomas Golden was also present during the LS&TC presentation.
Changing our Electric Culture of Safety together as a Line Team, depends on leadership from the top down, setting the example of caring and focus on the well-being of every person within your particular organization, equally.
Interesting to note that while setting up for this speaking session, not realizing that Thomas was EU’s CEO, someone asked him the purpose of not shaving, and he responded, I am trying to fit in with the Linemen. At the time Mr. Golden’s words seemed cliché.
In hindsight, can you imagine if all our Leadership within our Industry, embraced and enabled the attitude of equality, building a level playing field, giving permission and encouraging our Line Crews to Work Safely?
Forming the essence and character of every company’s mission statement, that to Work Safely becomes company policy.
Creating an environment in which it is safe to communicate, feel accepted, encouraging to interact with one another, regardless of titles, positions, authority, or experience.
Thank you, Mr. Thomas Golden, lead on brother⚡️
