Austin Inno named Pearl as a startup to watch!! 🚀 From the article: “The startup, which went through the DivInc accelerator, has arrived at a time when many companies have cut back on diversity, equity and inclusion efforts, despite the ongoing need for the vast majority of companies to develop workforces that better reflect the communities they serve.” s/o to DivInc and our fellow cohort 9 friend Quimby who was also listed! If you are overlooked and overqualified, add your experience to Pearl 👉 https://app.pearl.us.com/

Save the Date: October 7-10 is StartupCincy Week! The #StartupCincy community has been picking up steam since last year's event, and you should be a part of it. What do I mean by picking up steam? - Tons of new faces showing up to events who are starting companies - Speaking of events, the community is getting together again, regularly (there is definitely a balance between "too much networking" vs. just focus on building for founders, but I'm seeing people get tons of value out of these events in the form of; introductions, founder therapy, booster shot of energy, etc) - An active product and developer community focused on early-stage startups again (as opposed to defaulting to safer BigCo jobs) - New sources of capital for early stage founders - Very active early-stage pipelines for all the accelerators and early-stage investors I'm talking to - Post-revenue startups with great potential are getting the funding they need to keep building (despite challenging environment to raise in) - Support community around startups remains strong -- Cincy loves supporting our startup founders! See you in October!

Lawyer - business, tech, trademark, copyright - “The Geekiest Lawyer in Iowa” I ❤️ to help successfully manage risks.
At 1MC I asked for focus group participants - thanks for those who signed up, but I can use a few more. Do you know a founder (pre-revenue and/or pre-series A) who can meet with me for a 30 min non-sales call? Goal: many startups stumble when it is time to scale. Fixing small problems in the early phase is way easier than later. However, early-stage founders typically have little money to spend on expert help. I need to talk to more people so that I can have a chance at helping more startups get off the ground.

🚨🤚 Stop what you’re doing and read this message carefully. We are now just 2 (!) days away from our Summer 🌞 Open Call application deadline, closing at midnight on June 1st. This means only a few hours left to apply for our imec.istart accelerator program. One of the main building blocks of our program has always been peer learning and the opportunity to grow, connect, and learn crucial lessons from fellow founders. Have a technical co-founder. I've been asked why investors favor startups with two founders when statistics don't necessarily indicate a higher success rate. The truth is, the success odds for startups are low, regardless of the number of founders. However, investors are looking for two critical elements in a startup: relentless effort (#hustle) and continuous product development (#building). We want to be confident that, even without funding, there's someone dedicated to improving the product and another making deals. If we have to choose, we lean towards the builder – the technical founder. If you're waiting for funding before starting to build, it's time to rethink your strategy. Either learn the necessary skills or find a co-founder who can. TODAY. What if your product is struggling to attract funding? Focus on enhancing it daily. Even without a coding team, new servers, or other resources, you can still make significant improvements. Listen to customer feedback, refine the landing page, improve the user interface, and eliminate friction points. Not sure how to do it? Learn. NOW. I know it sucks to hear this, but if you work for yourself and you don't hate your boss, you're probably doing it wrong. Because someone else out there is doing all of this, and those are the founders I write checks to. #startupsuccess #techfounders #startups #fundraising #growthhacking https://lnkd.in/gnTWgegf
