Did you tell your doctor, "Thank you" or state to the medical staff, "Bless you" after your colonoscopy procedure? The patients' heartfelt gratitude was abundant at the Free Colonoscopy Day this past Saturday. HCB2 teamed up with Colon & Rectal Specialists, Ltd., Access Now of the Richmond Academy of Medicine Services, and the area free clinics to offer 15 colonoscopies to our community members. The preliminary results show: * 14:15 patients showed for their appointment. * 100% of the patients had completed their bowel prep perfectly. * 50% of the patients had polyps removed. 50% is almost 4x above the average. * Two patients had more than six polyps removed! Needless to say, lives were saved on Saturday. Why? The Free Colonoscopy Day service was offered due to partnerships and partnerships make a broader, deeper impact. HCB2 is blessed to have these partners. Sending the entire planning committee and medical team a high five, fist bump, and butt slap. Well done, kids! #colorectalcancer #screeningsaveslives #partnershipsmatter #HCB2

We are excited to unveil a second set of new data presented at this year’s American Heart Association Scientific Sessions, showing that Cadence’s remote patient monitoring solution yielded meaningful improvements in vitals and adherence to life-saving medications and guidelines amongst patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). In a study of 215 patients with HFpEF, results showed a 12x increase in patients on all four pillars of guideline-directed medical therapy (GDMT), a treatment that saves and improves the quality of lives for patients with heart failure. Dr. Marat Fudim, an advanced heart failure specialist and cardiologist at the Duke University Medical Center and senior author on Cadence’s AHA abstract, shared: “This data demonstrates how RPM can help clinicians titrate and achieve high doses of life-saving GDMT in an effective and timely manner. Cadence’s team of multi-disciplinary heart failure clinicians are leveraging RPM and GDMT protocols to support HFpEF patients achieve better cardiovascular outcomes and quality of life.” Read the full results and abstract here: https://lnkd.in/e8Jcqs7k #aha23

Exciting news this week as GE HealthCare has secured the opportunity to deliver a state-wide cardiovascular information system for Queensland Health. From next year, we will be rolling out our Centricity Cardio Enterprise (CCE) solution across 11 cardiac catheter laboratories and 20 echocardiography facilities spread across 11 of Queensland’s hospitals and health services. Cardiovascular-related diseases are an increasing concern for Australians. Every year, Queensland’s cardiac catheter laboratories conduct 25,000 diagnostic and interventional procedures, while echocardiography departments conduct more than 124,000 imaging studies. Enterprise-wide solutions like the CCE are crucial to addressing population-level challenges. CCE will help to resolve service efficiency gaps, improve communication between practices and systems, streamline reporting, and eliminate duplications in patient scanning and data entry. The GE HealthCare Australia team and I are excited to work on this vital solution with Queensland Health. Not only will we streamline professional practice, but we will also improve access to quality and timely cardiac care for all #Queenslanders. #QueenslandHealth #CardiologyInnovation #HealthcareTransformation #cardiaccare #patientcare Grant Thomson Craig Pinkerton Mark McLean Nick Evans Renae Lopez Buckley

CMS Star Ratings Unreliable for Surgical Quality? — Higher ratings tied to better surgical outcomes, but variability was high even within star groups Higher CMS hospital star ratings generally were associated with better surgical outcomes, but there was wide variability within each star-rating group, suggesting its utility for assessing surgical quality may be limited, according to a cohort study. https://lnkd.in/eazCpbkQ

🌟 Exciting News from A4 Medicine! 🌟 Today, we're proud to unveil a pivotal tool in the fight against Pulmonary Embolism (PE) - our newly developed PE Triage Table. This comprehensive resource is dedicated to enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of PE diagnosis and management in primary care settings. 🔍 Why This Matters: Pulmonary Embolism can be a silent threat, often presenting with nonspecific symptoms that can easily be overlooked. The consequences can be severe, as tragically seen in the loss of lives, including the deeply felt passing of Emily Chesterton due to a blood clot. In her memory, and in honour of all those who have suffered or succumbed to PE, we've been motivated to take action. 🛠 About the Triage Table: Our PE Triage Table is designed to empower clinicians with a concise and structured approach to assessing suspected PE cases. By integrating essential elements of history taking, we aim to facilitate a more streamlined decision-making process, ensuring patients receive the timely care they need. 💡 Our Hope: We envision this tool as a vital step forward in improving patient outcomes and raising awareness about the critical nature of early PE detection. It is a tribute to the strength and resilience of those affected by PE, reflecting our commitment to advancing healthcare education and patient safety. 🤝 Join Us: We invite you to explore the PE Triage Table and share this resource with your networks. Together, we can make a significant impact on the lives of many, turning knowledge into action and loss into legacy. https://lnkd.in/gfr5w_-b Visit www.a4medicine.co.uk to access the triage table and learn more about our ongoing efforts to enhance primary care practice. #PulmonaryEmbolismAwareness #ClinicalExcellence #PatientSafety #A4Medicine #HealthcareInnovation
