Of course, there will be AI at the Olympic

Some day, there may be an Artificial Intelligence Olympics, where generative AIs face off to create the wildest images, videos, and hallucinative text responses. In the meantime, we have the real Olympics, starting July 26 in Paris, France. They will feature flesh and blood athletes, but behind the scenes will be AI chatting with athletes, chunking up highlight reels, and telling attendees which Olympic sport they're best equipped to compete in (at least in their fantasies). "Our big focus for these games, which makes sense as it's really the hot topic right now, is artificial intelligence, and so we are the official artificial intelligence platform provider for the Olympic Games," said Sarah Vickers, who leads Intel's Olympic and Paralympic Games Office. 🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅Intel is bringing AI to the Olympic Games! 🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅 Partnering with the Senegalese National Olympic Committee, Intel is using AI to scout for hidden athletic talent in rural areas. They conducted physical challenges with 1,000 children, identifying 40 promising young athletes through AI-powered sensors. An app, previewing in Paris soon, will eventually allow anyone to discover their Olympic potential. 📣 Sign me up for the ChatGPT-athon! 📣 🤖  Intel's other AI innovations for the Paris Games include a 3-D scanner to assist visually impaired athletes, a chatbot for navigating Olympic regulations, and real-time 8k resolution broadcasts using AI deep learning. 🤖  NBC is also leveraging AI, using an AI-generated version of legendary sports broadcaster Al Michaels’ voice for daily recaps. Micahels said he was at first sceptical of the idea. But he became convinced after hearing the voice for himself. “Frankly, it was astonishing,” he recently told Vanity Fair. “It was amazing.” Intel's initiative is a brilliant example of AI's transformative potential in sports. It democratises access to athletic development, offering opportunities to untapped talent in Senegal. The technological aids for athletes and the enhanced viewing experience for audiences signify a leap forward in making the Olympics more inclusive and immersive. Whilst NBC's use of AI for voice replication raises ethical questions about the future of broadcasting, overall, these advancements promise to make the Paris Games a showcase of cutting-edge technology. 

A few innovative uses of AI from Intel to be employed at the Olympics...AI has definite positives only now being tapped into; that doesn't mean that its potential for both copyright abuse and human creativity replacement are not real, but AI is here and will only continue to develop and broaden its impact. We need to figure out how to use AI to enhance our creative and productive lives.
