Any company, or organisation can benefit from these, because at their root it's all about communicating who you are and what you do. Entertainment, is often seen as a less necessary service, when a company considers imbedding it's value to it's potential customers minds, but this is not new... There's a reason why Louis Vuitton spent lots of money to have Pharrell & Jay-Z perform for their "2024 fashion show" FEAR NOT...You don't need to splash out millions and have A-listers wearing your brand, to get any value from employing entertainment services. Simply having an appropriate DJ, or a string quartet during an annual dinner with all your existing clients, suppliers and related can do the trick. #entertainmentmatters #dubaientertainment

So #anantambani is getting married. And if you already didn't know, he is the second son-heir of #mukeshambani and #nitaambani, the richest couple in Asia ($100 billion in annual revenue--you can calculate net worths from here if you like. Numbers at this level appear nonsensical anyways!). All of Bollywood showed up as did more than a "few" foreign "celebrities" including #rihanna , #ivankaTrump, and #markzuckerberg. The video below is already making its rounds for different reasons. It caught my attention for a reason as well--for a person present only in name, as an object of interest--a watch on the wrist--#richardmille. These are high-tech, high-performance watches coveted by true #adventurers, high-performance #athletes. But it all started with #rafa and his friendship with Richard Mille, a friendship that resulted in the lightest Tourbillon at the time of its release: the #RM027-the first watch to bear Rafa's name. The watch (and the man) convinced a "non-watch" super-athlete to not only wear one but during his matches nonetheless. "The watch is now a second skin to me," says #rafa. You can't buy the RM O27. There's no waitlist either. You can try to get on a non-existent wait list at #dubaimall, e.g. where they have a store with only 3 watches on display, 3 employees on display as well since they don't do anything except tell you there are no watches for them to show you, a computer table, a bicycle in the corner (probably one of the employees. I doubt it was a statement piece). My friends and I tried--to get on a "list." The response: "I can put you in the system but we'll call you if we feel there's a fit." #translation: "We decide who gets the watch." In the #luxury #watches space too, scarcity drives desire. You want what you cannot have. And if you're willing to pay the designated value and wait a finite time, you too can join the ranks of the "worthy." Richard Mille, however, has gone beyond the traditional "scarcity model' in luxury. It's not even about what the customer wants. It's about which customer we, the brand, wants to interact with, bring into the fold. And it certainly wasn't us, naive enough to walk into a Richard Mille Store in Dubai Mall and think we could be entertained as potential equity owners in the brand. Little did we know that the Store acted as a placeholder for the brand, not a point of transaction of any kind. It was like--"we know you see us, but keep on walking." So if the brand chooses the who's who, then a Richard Mille on Anant Ambani's wrist is hardly a surprise. It's in line with the brand strategy. Yet it is not. Richard Mille watches are for Rafa-alikes--high-performance adventurers, tenacious, one-of-a-kind individuals, always striving, always finding ways to evolve, never saying die, in it for the long-haul. As we all spend so much time selecting, preparing, merchandising, and finally presenting at XXX number of trade shows, it is essential to close with a bang, a boom, and a bing bang boom… Granted, very few of us have couture money, but we can always leverage a talented veteran or a local talent to leave everybody thinking, ‘WOW.’ Why not? P.S., it’s really time for trade shows to abandon booths and the aimless milling around. Instead, brands should be allocated stage time to present their brand story and the applicabke products.
