Reflecting on the past is a powerful journey, and today, as I was perusing through the virtual gallery of my memories, I stumbled upon a gem - my graduation speech from 2021. Waves of nostalgia crashed over me, and I couldn't help but be transported back to the pivotal moments at Piimt Morocco In those halls of academia, I didn't just earn a degree; I underwent a transformation. The journey at PIIMT- Private International Institute of Management & Technology was not just about gaining knowledge; it was about discovering the depth of my potential and honing the skills that would shape my future. As I leafed through the pages of my speech, I was reminded of the profound impact those days had on me. PIIMT- Private International Institute of Management & Technology wasn't just an institution; it was a crucible of growth, resilience, and ambition. The mentors and educators at PIIMT weren't just teachers; they were architects of dreams, guiding us through the intricate process of building our futures. The camaraderie with fellow students, the late-night study sessions, and the shared triumphs and challenges forged bonds that time can never erase. My graduation day stands out as one of the proudest moments in my life. It was more than receiving a diploma; it was a culmination of hard work, dedication, and the unwavering support of a community that believed in me. The event is organised in collaboration with INESC TEC, Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT), Universidade do Minho, and Science Europe. 🌐 CoARA member organisations follow a shared direction and a collective commitment to the principles of the reform of research assessment. However, the success of implementing these principles hinges on a nuanced understanding of the diverse geographical, regional, institutional, and disciplinary contexts in which CoARA member organisations are situated. The Office of International Affairs (OIA) & UA Research Center (UARC) Aims to Increase Collaboration with Wagening University & Research (WUR): The University of Aruba (UA) and Wageningen University & Research (WUR) want to strengthen a strategic collaboration in the realms of marine and coral reef studies, mangrove restoration, social sciences and a range of other key areas. This intent was detailed in a so-called Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed by both parties on Thursday, 22nd of February 2024. This agreement solidifies a commitment to foster joint research initiatives, emphasizing sustainability, ecological resilience, and the socio-economic well-being of island communities. The partnership will leverage the expertise of both institutions to address pressing environmental challenges, with a particular focus on marine ecosystems and coral reef preservation. In addition to research effort, the MoU paves the way for student exchange programmes, spanning Bachelor's, Master's, and PhD levels. This exchange programme aims to provide students with unique opportunities to engage in cross-cultural learning experiences and contribute to impactful research projects. 🎉 Great progress for the SIFTH project 🎉 🎉. This past Tuesday, we had the first face-to-face meeting of the SHIFT Project - HE. All partners were able to meet in Växjö, Sweden, to discuss the progress and future actions to be taken in the framework of the project. 📍 Coordinated by the University of Almeria (Miguel Pérez Valls), the project is being developed jointly with IMPACTsci, Linnaeus University, ISQe, University of Lodz, Helixconnect Europe, ACEEU and Univerzitet Metropolitan. 🔍 SIFTH aims to increase the capacity of higher education institutions (HEIs) to contribute to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through the assessment and implementation of ESG strategies and policies via an ESG Impact Index platform. Our collective efforts will empower students, academics, researchers, and staff with essential skills and knowledge to implement and monitor ESG practices.
