💜 May is #LupusAwarenessMonth. 4 out of 5 people diagnosed are women. It takes an average of 4-5 years and over 4 specialist doctors before they reach a diagnosis. Autoimmunity is a daily battle, effecting every aspect of life for those who are diagnosed and the people who love them. Peer-to-Peer Leading and Learning! As we continue advocating for non-hierarchical relationships in the humanitarian sector, the importance of peer-to-peer leading and learning cannot be overstated.
We call upon our proven support models and proximate knowledge to help RLOs overcome the location and context-specific barriers to accessing funding and growing impact. We also connect each RLO with relevant local networks, donor networks and advocacy initiatives in order to better sustain their work and grow their influence. learn more 🔗: https://ow.ly/Ebiv50SXxlP #RefugeesLead

Reflecting on yesterday's workshop with the esteemed organization Eleanor's Legacy was truly invigorating. Collaborating with a group dedicated to recruiting, training, and supporting pro-choice Democratic women to run for state and local office throughout New York was an honor. During the workshop, we delved into a range of topics under the theme of Field Strategy + Building A Field Operation. We explored the intricacies of developing a robust field strategy, emphasizing the importance of understanding the political landscape and setting clear objectives. Our discussions on data collection and management provided valuable insights into leveraging information effectively for decision-making. The session on phone banking and canvassing scripts equipped participants with practical communication strategies essential for engaging with voters. Additionally, we explored strategies for building and managing a dynamic field team and utilizing data-driven approaches to inform campaign decisions. As we reflect on the workshop, it's evident that Eleanor's Legacy is committed to empowering women to become effective leaders in their communities. The dedication and enthusiasm of the participants were palpable, and it was inspiring to witness their eagerness to learn and implement new strategies in their campaigns. We're excited to continue partnering with organizations like Eleanor's Legacy to provide tailored workshops and training sessions that equip individuals and teams with the skills and knowledge needed for campaign success. We have a blog now, ya'll! 🎉 Check out my first post about our approach to supporting #SNAP #policy #advocates around the country. If you have questions, feedback, or ideas for future topics, please share them in the comments!
In 2023, we made a goal to start a blog to share more about our approach to fighting hunger. Now that the new year is here, we are excited to share our first blog post, written by Rachel Cahill. Here is an excerpt with a link to the full piece below. We hope you will check it out! "Two things the anti-hunger advocacy space desperately needs more of: resources and capacity, especially at the state and local levels. Sadly, we don’t currently have the level of staffing and depth of expertise necessary in every state and U.S. territory to advocate for high-impact policy changes. Local organizations are starved for resources, and when one experienced advocate leaves, years of accumulated knowledge disappears. As consultants, we step in to help organizations accomplish ambitious goals when existing advocacy teams do not yet exist or are over-capacity. In every project, our goal is to help support and grow local policy advocates so they are well-equipped to lead SNAP policy advocacy efforts for years to come..." https://lnkd.in/g9wjeNiq
