"We cannot lower the mountain, therefore we must elevate ourselves" - Todd Skinner 🗻 In July & August I spent 2 full months in the mountains and worked in my summer job as an #internationalmountainleader. What at first glance sounds like something completely different from my main job as a Business Excellence Consultant for the Learning Organization, actually has a lot in common. Some things only appear much more vividly and clearly in the mountains. 🔍 Let me share my personal 3 learnings/parallels 💡 that I discovered during summer and that I will take with me for the next projects back at Siemens: ⭐ #Teamwork makes the dream work! 🙏 The bigger a challenge seems, the more it helps to face it as a team. It doesn't matter whether you're walking across the Alps or have to deal with a complex, crossfunctional project - if we support each other and bring together all of our individual strength and skills, we increase the chances of success for everyone involved (and have a lot more fun 🎉) ⭐ #Communication is key! 💬 Guiding a group of people with different backgrounds, experience levels and skills on narrow paths and in fall-prone, wire-roped terrain requires clear commands. Especially when the weather conditions are changing quickly and the going gets tough, the group has to work well and everyone has to know exactly what to do. ⭐ Nobody is perfect. 🤷♀️ We are all humans and we all make mistakes. The earlier we realize & admit it, the less impact it has. It doesn't help anyone if we end up at the wrong hut at the end of the hike because I was too proud to admit we took a wrong turn. #failureculture Overall I had two amazing, also challenging, but mostly wonderful & rewarding months in the probably nicest "office" in the world and I want to thank my great team Britt Liebelt, Jannis Hövermann, Daniela Pankratz, Tobias Thiesbrummel & Sina Schneider for daring this experiment, for covering my absence & therefore giving me the chance to integrate this passion in my professional career. I really appreciate that 💙

🚀 #NEXTLEVEL CONVERSATIONS 🚀 Next up in our series of conversations with colleagues, we have Søren Bech. Søren started his career with us as a Trainee and is now a Senior Associate on the Firm’s Disputes team. 🗺️ Having been a part of the Moalem Weitemeyer journey since 2017, Søren has been witness to many of the Firm’s milestones. One such milestone, shared with companies, governments and individuals worldwide, was navigating through the challenges posed by the pandemic. Everyone faced the crucial question: how do you react when it counts? Søren gives his perspective here. 🌊 Like everyone else, we were swimming in unchartered waters. One thing was certain, however, and that was that no one at Moalem Weitemeyer would lose their job because of this. We would weather the storm together, as a team. 🙌 This demanded effort from everyone. The Partners called an online firm-wide town hall meeting. We set up a dinner takeaway service to offer some comfort for our colleagues and their families during those peculiar times. Even from home, we remained steadfastly available to our clients 🏡 We innovated new ways to provide service, and we published continuous updates on the situation. Hello Network, I am excited to share with you my experience with the Buddy Ed In the 'Flying Innovators Competition' organised by buddyEd.com participants engaged in designing sustainable air travel solutions within the aerospace industry. I did this alongside my teammates Zina-Naima Muhammad and Milana Berhe We created a novel design for sustainable air travel applying my ability to visualise and plan complex structures. We applied design principles including functionality, sustainability, efficiency, and accessibility. We found innovative application for materials and energy sources. We actively made the most from what's available in an efficient and sustainable manner, evident through my design and my prototype. Through imaginative ideation and the ability to combine existing technologies in unique, I designed a noval concept of sustainable air travel. We examined current challenges with air travel and sustainable aviation. Through applying my problem-solving skills, I was able to come up with solutions that addressed obstacles and risks. This also allowed me to have valuable networking opportunities, allowing me to interact with prior professionals in the chemical engineering industry Gabriela Gosnell López and Fiadhnaid Lydon who are now the founders of the educational website that contributes to fulfilling peoples educational potential.

From: Gulnar Mustafayeva: Last year, I crossed paths with these three distinguished gentlemen in an interesting way. By a chance application to the #BrightBrain program authored by the respected Rashad Bayramov, I found myself in a group mentored by ⭐ Ilham N Musayev, ICF-PCC, along with Sarkhan Ismayilov, CIA, and Nurlan Yagubov. Mr. Ilham held regular meetings with us over several months, providing not only motivation but also useful advice, and most importantly, introduced us to the #PersonalAgilitySystem and #Whatreallymatters approaches. Of course, the main contribution of this program for me was also getting to know professionals from different fields such as Mr. Ilham, Sarkhan, and Nurlan. There are a considerable number of experts in our surroundings. It is quite encouraging and motivating to have such entrepreneurial professionals at a young age in the business environment of Azerbaijan. If you ask what "what really matters?" is, I can briefly say from the book by author Peter Stevens that, "Actions speak louder than words.
