Lately, I’ve been reflecting on whether I’m making the impact I aspire to. This often happens when I’m trying to accomplish a lot and neglect to step back and view the bigger picture. While I enjoy diving into the details, spending too much time there drains my energy and makes me lose sight of the bigger picture. I often emphasize the importance of celebrating successes and progress, yet I struggle to follow my own advice. In the past two weeks, I’ve made a conscious effort to seek feedback on the projects and areas I oversee. This initiative has not only boosted my energy but also helped me realign with my strategic goals. On Tuesday, I am thrilled to announce, as part of the Olympus Women’s Network, we received a silver EMEA core values award. This, along with the internal and external feedback I’ve received, has been invaluable in assessing my impact. I acknowledge that my impatience is something I need to manage, but the progress and feedback I’ve seen are encouraging. I hope I can continue to make a positive impact and bring important events to empower women across every stage of their career. If you find yourself questioning your impact, first congratulate yourself—asking that question is an achievement in itself. Take a step back, seek others’ perspectives, and reach out to those who can provide constructive feedback to help you grow. Remember, it’s your journey and your plan. The transformation in how we consume news is about more than a result of advancing digital media…. It represents increasing complexity in navigating our shared social space. In "Shards of glass: Inside media's 12 splintering realities," Axios shares a consequential lens through which we can view the current state of media consumption in the US, underscoring how understanding our collective experiences and the outcomes of significant events relies in large part on wrestling with our multifaceted information ecosystems. As traditional - and even social - media's influence declines and is replaced by news bubbles shaped by ideology, wealth, occupation, age and geography, the challenge of finding common ground becomes more complex. Increasing fragmentation profoundly impacts how we each perceive one another and interact with the world around us. I founded The Gorgeous Agency knowing I could harness my experience in PR, branding, strategy and influencer work to be a leader in the body inclusion conversation and guide corporations to be agents of change on this front. And wowza, what a year! We worked with Peloton Interactive and launched the Body Appreciation initiative. This engagement was so personal and profound for me as a major fan of the brand. I started the year by presenting at Women Leading Travel & Hospitality in Miami and finished at the Women in Retail Leadership Circle event in NYC. I connected with so many inspiring executives who want to continue the conversation about weight stigma in their workplaces. Knowing that anti-fat bias, particularly in the workplace, has reached a tipping point, we expanded our team with me, Alyssa Herzinger and Nichole Reyes at the helm. Anti-fat bias laws are now in place in New York City with many more in the works so it is urgent and imperative for companies to add body inclusion in marketing and communication strategy, DEI efforts and HR trainings. As we’re closing out #Neurodiversity Awareness Month, I wanted to share a bit from my own perspective. Growing up with a working memory challenge from a childhood brain injury has really helped me understand deeply the power of diverse minds working together. It's never just been about "thinking outside the box" for me. It's about who's around that box with me. There's something kind of magical that happens when different minds or entities cooperate. That's where good ideas turn into greater outcomes— this is how I define synergy. Diversity Multiplies Our Potential When people from all sorts of backgrounds get together, the effect isn't just additive; it's multiplicative. I’ve seen it happen. Each new perspective or strange idea can lead to solutions or innovations that you’d never get from a group where everyone thinks the same. This is What America’s About Diversity is not just a nice idea—it’s the backbone of what makes America great, in my opinion. Our mix of cultures, ideas, and personalities is our secret sauce. It's no shocker then that some of the coolest, most innovative companies have grown up right here where diversity is more than welcomed—it's a reason to praise. I've watched diverse teams in tech, business, you name it—and it’s clear they’re the ones changing the game. They push the limits and challenge the "usual ways" because they bring unique bits of themselves into everything they do. That’s where the real breakthroughs happen.
