Korean collab will breathe new life into Farfetch 🚀👗 So, what does this mean? Farfetch, in its hour of need, found a knight in shining armor in Coupang, South Korea's answer to Amazon. These folks raked in $20.6 billion in revenue in 2022 and are giving Amazon and Alibaba a run for their money at home. This deal provides much-needed emergency funding of $500 million. The acquisition, set to be finalized early next year, comes as Farfetch faced increasing financial challenges due to a slowing luxury market, previous M&A setbacks, and a high cost of debt, jeopardizing its operations and affecting partner boutiques and brands. The fate of Farfetch’s businesses beyond its core marketplace, including sneaker reseller Stadium Goods, UK department store Browns and Off-White operator New Guards Group, is also up in the air. New products account for half Lego's portfolio last year, according to Lex at the FT. Seeking innovation undoubtedly hurt the bottom line in the short term, but tend to boost long term profitability, growth and strengthen the brand.
