I held my breath for 2 minutes and 49 seconds. I never thought I could. I never really wanted to. I did, however, want to continue to find ways to challenge my mental toughness in stressful situations. So, when the opportunity to meet world record holding free diver, Will Trubridge, with my EO Board presented itself, I leaned in. After learning about what happens biologically to the body and best practices to relax in extreme situations, I moved to the pool. Having set a goal of 1:30, I breathed in and fought through to make it to 1:31, after literally wanting to stop after about a minute. Two tries later, each of which was full of uncomfortability, to say the least, I hit 2:49. Each step was really, really hard, from the first try, to putting on the nose clamps for the second try, to ultimately reaching what I thought previously impossible. My takeaway...control the mind, impact the outcome, and perhaps get closer to your real potential.

Allegedly Tom Cruise trained himself to hold his breath underwater for 6 minutes! You did almost half of that without being an action movie star. 🙌We truly cannot comprehend how much our body is capable of until we put it to the test.

It's amazing how much more we are capable of than we originally think sometimes! A good reminder that pushing past mental obstacles can take us to goals beyond our expectations.
