Do you know that the most followed woman in the world on Instagram does not have up to 1% engagements proportionate to her 427 million followers? Apologies in advance, we're about to do some Maths! When I discovered the above fact, I was shocked as well! Selena Gomez is the most followed woman on Instagram but if you go through her last 10 posts, you will discover something. 1% of 427 million is 4.27 and she has never had 4 million reactions on her posts! What am I driving at? You are doing better than you know or think. If you have 1,000 followers and get 50 likes, that's 5% of your followers engaging on your content! Imagine 50 people in a room listening to what you have to say and applauding you...not so small anymore, isn't it? Here's your evening dose of motivation to keep going. Keep creating. I'll check all of my incoming comms again, but I can assure you know one at LinkedIn or LinkedIn for Creators has yet pinged me. I'm pretty sure they have to touch base with who they direct report to for permission to create a pitch deck to pass along to colleagues to influence critical stakeholders for buy in and because their calendars may already be full, this probably won't be on the agenda until the week before everyone takes time off for the holidays. So the "RE: Corporate Erin" email threads are threading now and when they circle back after everyone has reigned in the New Year around the 3rd week in January - THEN it will be time to collaborate with other departments to see who are the other critical internal key players that they want to bring into the conversation of how they could best utilize and leverage this captivating virality of a well-known entity. This will give them time to follow up and bounce ideas around and piggyback off of those ideas around February - right on time - the month where our country uplifts the voices of the entire BIPOC (we love that term) community. Keep in mind, this will be near the end of the second week of February that initial comms are sent to me. The contracting phase typically takes about 4-6 weeks and there are several factors that go into that right? The negotiation phase, the scope and drilling down on what the key deliverables will be phase, the invoicing phase - a lot of moving parts. Now we're nearing the end of Q1 which thankfully includes Women's Month so if anything isn't able to figured out by BHM, good thing is, we have this amazing opportunity to leverage the country's love of women during the month of March. Really exciting stuff. Good thing for you Katie, we're not going to have to wait for all of that. Instead of requesting that YOU hop over to TikTok during our TikTok All Hands where I guide, lately, roughing 3000 of our best and brightest, I'll go ahead and hop over here maybe sometime this week. I'm going to look at my abundant budget that I have allocated for the rest of the quarter and look into things on my end to make sure that I can ensure that everyone can rest assured that I'll run a live all hands here. LinkedIn strongly suggested that I celebrate being 19 (!) years on this platform. ✅ Of all the statistics they provided me with to mark the occasion, the aggregate number of 50,163 “impressions“ of my posts puzzled me the most. With plenty of educated posts nowadays dissecting the algorithm‘s preferences for certain engagement-driving techniques and detailing how to play the game more effectively, the one sure thing is that I will never pivot to being a #LegalInfluencer of any sort.
