LinkedIn is supposed to be for work, but when there's a new recipe to shout about, we think it works both ways 📣 🌿 Rosemary Gin Fizz 🌿 First, create your rosemary simple syrup by combining 250ml of water with 200grams of white sugar and a large bunch of rosemary in a saucepan. Bring it to the boil and stir to make sure all of the sugar has been dissolved. Once it has, turn off the heat and let it steep for an hour before straining. 🌿 For the cocktail, add 50ml of gin, 30ml of lemon juice and 20ml of simple syrup to a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake the mixture and then strain into a coup or if you don't have one handy, you can use a short glass. Add soda water and a slice of lemon peel for garnish. 🌿 Perfection!

As I indulged in my Easter egg over the weekend (Lindt was my egg of choice), I found myself wondering why Easter egg chocolate tastes better than ‘normal’ chocolate. Was it all in my head, or is there something to it? So I did a little research, and here’s what I found: 🥚  Easter egg chocolate is usually thinner than standard chocolate. This allows it to melt quicker in the mouth, and release its aromas more easily. Up to 80% of the taste experience is influenced by our sense of smell, so this certainly has an effect. 🥚  Studies have shown that we perceive round chocolate as smoother and creamier, and angular-shaped chocolate to be more bitter – even when the recipe has not changed. 🥚 The satisfying snap of Easter egg chocolate certainly adds to the overall tasting experience, as well as the ritual of unwrapping an Easter egg and the nostalgia associated with it.
