In honour of this year’s #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek, we thought it’d be a great time to share our mental health champions initiative. Four of our team have volunteered to become our mental health champions, acting as a listening ear and offering support to the Dyce team should they need it. Not only that, but we want to encourage and provide the option for our team to seek help for anything they may be struggling with as part of our commitment to our staff’s well-being. Prioritising mental health within our workplace is not just about ticking a box and enhancing employee productivity. To us, it’s also about fostering a supportive working environment which will reduce the likelihood of stress and burnout, promote a positive working culture, and ultimately enhance team cohesion and organisational success. As we approach the end of May, we continue the dialogue surrounding Mental Health Awareness Month, emphasizing the importance of self-care while having access to the necessary resources to do so. At Arden Logistics Parks, we offer our employees access to a network of care providers through our employee assistance program (EAP), a confidential service connecting employees with resources to help conquer life’s day-to-day challenges. I am encouraged by the ideas presented during yesterday's parliamentary motion on calling for a whole-of-Singapore effort to implement a national strategy to enhance mental health and well-being. The rich dialogue and the insights shared by fellow members of parliament highlighted the need to prioritise mental health as part of our national strategy as it is an integral part of our collective wellbeing. Leadership commitment to mental health sets a powerful precedent and is pivotal in shaping an inclusive, compassionate, and progressive corporate environment. It indeed all starts at the top.
