Across the globe, #TeamGoodyear gave back to our communities where we live and work throughout this year’s Global Week of Volunteering. Today, we are featuring an inspiring volunteer team in Indonesia. In collaboration with the Indonesian Red Cross Society, they hosted a blood drive for over 50 associates. The team also distributed basic-need kits to members in the community surrounding the Goodyear location in Bogor, Indonesia. Finally, they donated tires to a local self-sustaining dairy village for dairy farming education. Today, we welcome Nicole Gray as Goodyear’s new senior vice president and Chief Human Resources Officer. Nicole joined us in 2016 and has been instrumental to critical people strategies around the world, starting with leading our global labor and employment team and then in senior Human Resources roles. Nicole succeeds Gary VanderLind, who is retiring after nearly 40 years of dedicated service to Goodyear, starting as a Goodyear retail store manager. Congratulations to both Nicole and Gary on their well-deserved next chapters!

This year’s Global Week of Volunteering was a huge success, thanks to #TeamGoodyear. The photos and stories coming in from our associates across the globe are inspiring. One team from Goodyear’s Mireval, France Proving Grounds organized a cleanup volunteer activity with three other organizations to collect over 600 kilograms (1,400 pounds) of garbage in the surrounding area and nearby beach. By working together and supporting an environmental need today, they are helping their community thrive tomorrow. #GoodyearBetterFuture

In its largest 24 Hours of Le Mans operation in history, Goodyear delivered relentless performance throughout the 2024 edition of the world’s most iconic endurance race. To supply 39 cars across two classes, making up almost two-thirds of the entire grid at Le Mans, the scale of Goodyear’s operation was unlike ever before. Many LMGT3 teams completed four stints on a single set of tires, amounting to around 550 km of running; close to two times a Formula 1 Grand Prix race distance. One team even completed 45 laps or 613 km on the same tires. This longevity is central to Goodyear’s endurance racing strategy, providing tires that maintain their performance level over an extended period of time. Congratulations to No. 91 Manthey EMA Porsche 911 GT3 R that crossed the finish line to become the first LMGT3 class winner in Le Mans history and to LMP2 United Autosports to secure the win in its class.

Today, on #WorldBloodDonorDay, we want to express our immense pride in the collective effort of our associates who have participated in our blood drives around the world. So far in 2024, hundreds of Goodyear associates have rolled up their sleeves to donate blood, showcasing our commitment to helping save lives and supporting the Red Cross. The need for blood is constant, and the act of donating is a powerful way to make a positive impact. With additional blood drives planned for the future, we will continue this tradition of giving and help keep the lifeline going strong for those in need.

As we count down to this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans, we’re thrilled to announce that Goodyear’s presence will be larger than ever. Since our return to global endurance racing in 2019, we’ve been pushing the boundaries of performance, and this year is no exception. Our teams in LMGT3 and LMP2 are set to compete for glory, all on Goodyear Eagle racing tires.   And of course, our presence wouldn’t be complete without the iconic Goodyear Blimp in the skies above Le Mans.   Bring on the weekend! #LeMans2024

To celebrate the conclusion of this year’s Global Week of Volunteering, Goodyear’s Americas Leadership team hosted a card-making event for the patients of Akron Children’s Hospital. From sharing well-wishes to artfully drawing cartoons, associates enjoyed getting creative for a cause. Goodyear also had the opportunity to hear from a Children’s Miracle Family who shared their story about the hospital’s positive impact on their lives. And a special furry friend Lucy, member of the hospital’s Doggie Brigade, joined in on the fun, too.
