She asked why so many companies in Switzerland require recruiters to be fluent in German or Swiss German, especially when English is so prevalent in our multinational teams. 🧐 Here’s the lowdown: 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁-𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗡𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀: 🏭 Many roles, for example in manufacturing, sales and other areas are German-speaking. To effectively interview and communicate with these candidates, recruiters need to speak German too. 𝗛𝗶𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘀' 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀: 👔 Most hiring managers in these departments prefer to conduct business in German. It’s their comfort zone and helps streamline the process.
