#digitaldivide #drexciya #UDC #civics The From the Deep: In the Wake of Drexciya with Ayana V. Jackson exhibit was enlightening, especially since I experienced it in person. Multiple sensory designs and installations piqued my interest. This, to me relates to civics as a sense of unification. A story was told from the materials used, and a strong message was received. A sense of pride and perseverance. During the observation of the exhibit, many different colors and materials were used. This, to me, was a node towards diversity. Creating and making many different things coexist beautifully, as art can be a simile for democracy and society. The Drexciya exhibit also touches upon themes related to digital culture and technology, which are increasingly relevant to civics in the digital age. This includes issues such as online activism, digital rights, and the impact of technology on democracy and civic participation. The #digitaldivide is relevant to this topic as it aims to provide high-speed internet to everyone, but such information can’t be accessed because of this disparity.

🏗 This Friday I have the honour of participating in the Beyond Culture of Ownership (un)conference. What excites me more about this event is the discussion about how technology and the creative industries can re-imagine the concept of ownership. Let's assess different definitions of ownership: 📚 Cambridge Dictionary: The right or state of being an owner. 💻 ChatGpt (always interesting to see what our AI friend thinks): Ownership typically refers to the legal right to possess, use, control, and dispose of an item or asset. It involves the exclusive rights and responsibilities associated with a particular object, property, or resource. Ownership can pertain to various types of assets Blockchain and Web3 bootstrapped the conversation about what is being an owner in the digital era. How do you think technology will redefine ownership? #blockchain #artstechnologies #ownership
On 3 November, 100+ artists, activists, technologists, policy-makers and researchers will come together at Somerset House in London to explore strategies and practices for making plural, and relational ownership protocols the norm. The event, co-hosted by Serpentine Arts Technologies, RadicalxChange Foundation, Somerset House Studios and Dark Matter Labs, will feature contributions by Adrienne Buller, Danielle Brathwaite-Shirley, Hilary Cottam, Holly Herndon & Mat Dryhurst, Indy Johar, Divya Siddarth, and Sam Sivapragasam. Thank you to everyone who applied to join us. The applications, coming in from all over the world, were inspiring and thought-provoking and reassured us that this is just the beginning of the conversation. Stay tuned as we’ll publicly share the talks and various resources after the conference along with more opportunities to get involved. #serpentine #artstechnologies

CEO & Founder, that funny agency | Managing Partner, Find Marketing Talent | Owner, Fat Jar Shop | Star Wars Expert | Lego-building Dad | Dog Rescuer | Actor | Eye-roll Inducer | Hubby to Superhero Fundraiser | Humanist
Greg Goldstein and I want to thank all current and former (and future) TFAvengers for getting us to this milestone! We will keep growing and going. We will keep being funny and human. We will keep learning and getting better. We will have successes and failures. We will have moments of joy and utter moments of panic. We will meet thousands of like-minded people along the way and partner with companies who thrive to have better digital connections, pay for tasks rather than hours, have a digital agency that focuses on ROI and ROAS and believes in a data-driven, humanistic approach to success. We will have naysayers and dismissers. We will have evangelists and colleagues. We will have some other agencies who are allies and some who are competitors. We will always serve the client right or break up so they can find a better partner for them. We will not stand in the way of growth. We will not be a perfect fit for every client. We will perfect our fit with clients who want the change we are offering. We will thrive, survive and stay alive. We are thankful for your follows, your likes, your thought leadership, your trust in our process and your friendship. We are that funny agency and we will never stop telling dad jokes like this one: "How many marketers does it take to screw in a lightbulb? None, they’ve already automated it." ;)

Boards require agility to handle the demands impacting our businesses. How do we become agile? By creating a strong culture that promotes performance and responsive governance. For practical advice on how to make this happen, read the NACD (National Association of Corporate Directors) report Culture as the Foundation: Building a High-Performance Board. Thanks to the NACD Texas TriCities Chapter for providing this opportunity for learning and dialogue around this topic. Thanks to Anna Catalano, Gaurdie Banister, and Jarvis V. Hollingsworth for sharing their insights.
We couldn't have asked for a better start to 2024! Last night, we kicked off our 2024 programming season by delving into the insights of the 2023 Blue Ribbon Commission report: Culture as the Foundation for Building a High-Performance Board. It was an evening filled with incredible knowledge sharing, complemented by engaging tabletop discussions and a delightful reception. Thank you to Anna Catalano, our lead panelist, and to Gaurdie Banister and Jarvis V. Hollingsworth, who not only served as panelists but were also instrumental as commissioners behind this insightful report. To all who joined us, your active participation elevated this event to something truly exceptional!
