If your app includes real-time video, streaming quality is essential for engaging users. But "quality" goes far beyond standard metrics like resolution and bitrate. High-quality live video involves a number of factors working together to create a great experience for the user. These factors include: - Resolution - Frame rate - Bitrate - Compression and codec - Dynamic range - Capture and viewing environment - Perceptual quality metrics - Low latency and synchronization - Content adaptation - Interactivity and immersion Learn more about what they mean and how to optimize them here: https://lnkd.in/gBkQaj7z

When Low Latency DASH was introduced by MPEG-DASH in 2018, it revolutionized streaming by effectively minimizing end-to-end latencies to as low as 2-5 seconds. This technology dynamically adapts video quality to ensure a smooth streaming experience regardless of varying internet speeds. I am pleased to share that the Bitmovin Player supports low latency industry standards including Low Latency DASH (LL-DASH), as well as Low Latency HLS (LL-HLS) and WebRTC. https://okt.to/zF6Mn7 #LowLatency #Streaming

What is HLS? DVIDS says: we recommend using our HLS renditions for videos as they are more bandwidth friendly and change dynamically if a user moves from mobile to wifi, for example. HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) is a video format that uses the MPEG-TS container format to transmit compressed video and audio over HTTP. The HLS protocol was developed by Apple in 2009 as an alternative to Flash video. https://lnkd.in/gErdqrTW
