𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗻𝗲𝘄𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆, 𝘀𝘂𝗻𝗻𝘆 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆... Construction activity is the highest it has been for 2 years! 🎉 S&P Global Construction Purchasing Managers’ Index registered a score over 50 (54.7), indicating noticeable growth and the hope of strong momentum to continue forward. In fact, sizeable growth was seen across all three broad sectors of construction: Commercial, Civil Engineering and House Building. 🏠 An increase in new orders and job creation, combined with an improvement in supply-chain conditions and a slowing of input cost inflation, are understood to be the key drivers. Not to sound too optimistic, but 2024 is looking like a good year for construction! ✅ #construction #realestate #RICS #quantitysurveying #recruitment

I measure your buildings and assets under construction so you can manage costs, reduce carbon emissions and increase value.
💚 The Treasury Board of #Canada needs architects and engineers, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) practitioners, quantity surveyors and all other interested parties to respond to this: “The government will implement Buy Clean in its procurement by reducing the environmental impact of construction materials and design by: 👉 disclosing the amount of embodied carbon in the construction materials of major construction projects, based on material carbon intensity or a life cycle assessment 👉 conducting whole-building (or asset) life cycle assessments by 2025 at the latest for major buildings and infrastructure projects 👉 reducing the embodied carbon of major construction projects by 30%, starting in 2025, using recycled and lower-carbon materials, material efficiency and performance-based design” This RFI seeks feedback to assist in the development of requirements designed to achieve environmental objectives and support a competitive and resilient marketplace for all major federal government construction projects starting in 2025. #SustainableConstruction #Decarbonization #BuiltEnvironment #Buildings
The Government of Canada’s Greening Government Strategy is seeking feedback from architectural, engineering, and design service providers on including whole building lifecycle assessments in federal procurement requirements applicable to construction.
