Yesterday, we (finally!) got together with CLEMENGER GROUP LIMITED's Auckland based agencies BrandWorld New Zealand, Raydar, Proximity New Zealand, Perceptive, Colenso BBDO, and GRC Partners for a breakfast conference and were welcomed by our trans-Tasman CEO of the Clemenger Group Les Timar. It was awesome to welcome Les from Australia and learn about both his career and personal journey, with an engaging Q@A session between himself and Clemenger Group NZ CEO Strahan Wallis to kick things off. We also had the pleasure of hearing from some of the Group’s leaders in a fantastic panel discussion covering everything from career advice, creativity and innovation, to what matters to New Zealanders and the future of work. Moderated by Chris Pescott, the panel featured our very own MD Brad Pogson, alongside Maria Devereux, Lucy Grigg, and Daniel Shaw. Thank you all, for your openness and honesty on stage. To close the morning, we were inspired by Chief Creative Officer of Colenso BBDO Simon Vicars, who challenged our thinking and showcased some of the Group’s award-winning and innovative work, including from CHEP Network. We enjoyed celebrating the creative and strategic minds, thinking, and work! #career #creativity #leaders

It was awesome to catch OfficeMax New Zealand’s very own National Learning Consultant Felicity Rea on TVNZ Breakfast on Tuesday morning! The team went to check out Felicity’s work with the students at Knights Stream School, which aimed to show the small but meaningful ways to reduce the impact on the planet. Designing out waste is a way to do this- which OfficeMax have done through the creation of a new, fully recyclable paper strap, which will replace the plastic strapping on products such as copy paper boxes. You can watch yesterday’s segment here: https://lnkd.in/gAJjASxJ

Haere rā Brad Pogson - your GRC Partners + Porter Novelli whānau will be cheering you on from across the Tasman as you take on Sydney!
Larks, creative thinking, Beach Haven’s loss, etc: a farewell to Brad Today is Brad Pogson's last day at GRC Partners + Porter Novelli. The idea of merging two established agencies first bubbled up mid-way through 2022, for various reasons. The guiding theory was that an integrated agency could do more, do it better, and work with a wider range of clients on both sides of the Tasman. And since GRCPN’s blast-off on 1 January 2023, that’s how it has turned out, with Brad playing an essential role in our momentum and success. He has been a delight to work with, and I have learned a lot from him. In many ways he’s been the “+” in GRC + PN. Brad is full of good ideas, he is enthusiastic and may even be living proof that the consultancy virus, once it takes hold, has a stronger grip than even that other virus we’ve learned so much about since March 2020. Brad and his husband Ben are shortly swapping Beach Haven for Sydney. Good on them. Haere ra, Brad. I wish you and your man the very best across the Tasman and look forward to staying in touch. There is a two-hour time difference between your new home and Auckland, in which case it’s fortunate that both you and I are larks rather than owls. Stand by for a few invitations to early morning Teams calls with me... All the best, friend.

From a thesis in Māngere in the late 1970s by Professor Matthew Sanders, Triple P International Pty Ltd (Positive Parenting Program) has amassed over four decades of academic evidence to support parents both here in Aotearoa New Zealand and in over 30 countries worldwide, where they work to ensure evidence-based parenting is in the hands of as many parents and caregivers as possible. Last week, Triple P NZ psychologist and NZ Manager Jackie Riach appeared on RNZ's Nine to Noon with Kathryn Ryan to provide advice, strategies and information about where parents can access more help. On parenthood, Jackie said, "It can be such a rewarding and fulfilling job, can make you smile, but it can also be frustrating and test your patience... it's quite common to feel like that." The MTANZ (Medical Technology Association of NZ) HealthTech Week 2024 Conference kicked off yesterday, providing an important forum for medical device suppliers in New Zealand to discuss the changing landscape in health. Hon. David Seymour, Chair of Pharmac Paula Bennett and MP Todd Stephenson took to the stage to discuss their take on the Pharmac Reform and their intentions moving forward. Our very own Mark Watts and Talani Meikle also had a chance to provide some political commentary on the challenges and opportunities the coalition government has faced over the past seven months. All in all, a very informative day!
