The best leaders live in the future. I heard this referenced in today's This Old Marketing podcast - it's pure gold. The biggest thing I've been shocked by since I left Target and moved into smaller family owned companies - they don't really plan for the distant future. Founder led companies have been operating in the moment for so long that the idea of planning for 3 years out doesn't even cross their minds. Or maybe it's that the idea does cross their mind but they don't think long term planning will lead to results today, and today is all that matters. Getting to a few million dollars annually can happen with in the moment planning, but if you want to build a size-able company - you have to be making strategic bets years into the future and start working towards them today.

Chief Marketing Officer at In Plain Sight Marketing | Contracted PIO @ State of Nevada | Accredited in Public Relations
🎙️ Excited to share that I recently appeared on the Unfiltered Discussions Podcast to talk about my passion for public relations and marketing! As I watched the video, I couldn't help noticing the less-than-perfect lighting, my unruly cowlicks, and my (very) animated facial expressions. But you know what I really see? A passionate leader in public relations who lives and breathes every moment of this incredible field. Public relations isn't about perfect lighting or flawless appearances. It's about authenticity, energy, and the genuine drive to connect with people, tell compelling stories, and build strong relationships. Those animated expressions? They reflect my enthusiasm and commitment to the work I love. Grateful for the opportunity to share my insights and experiences on such a great platform. Huge thanks to Brian Howard and the Unfiltered Discussions Podcast for having me! If you haven't checked it out yet, give it a listen – would love to hear your thoughts! #PublicRelations #Marketing #Leadership #Authenticity #Passion #Podcast

The power of saying #YES and the #Determination to see it through two really important lessons from our latest episode.
"It's her exuberance, passion, and determination for any goal she sets.... but it's not only that, it's that she'll see it through." In Accelerating Careers in Real Estate Podcast we do our homework, and research our guests and one question I ask of their peers is what is our guest's superpower. Well, our latest guest Honor Barratt, CEO of Birchgrove was praised for her willingness to accept a challenge, saying Yes but with exuberance and determination to see it through to the end. I asked her WHY. What does she get out of these challenges, often picking up where someone or some entity has failed? You can listen to the full episode using the links in the comments section. Thank you for the continued support by Macdonald & Company.

"Hey, I know that amazing person!" That's what I thought when this came in the mail, saw Tamara Keefe's picture, and thought of her podcast episode. She's been successful in so many areas of life and she took the time to share with us and show us her true genuine and authentic self. And, I had the opportunity to meet and record an episode with Kelley Lamm-Montgomery this week - the creator of this magazine and so much more. Business lesson - meet great people, be helpful, and you will be connected with more great people (thank you Jana Franklin and Tessa Greenspan for the connections). This is a great way to learn, continuously improve, and expand a network of fantastic people who can fill your tool box to help others. Cynthia Kirkpatrick, CPA, CFP®, JJ Kirkpatrick
