🚨 ADD YOUR NAME: Demand that Keir be clear on climate & nature With a general election on 4th July, the clock's ticking on party manifestos. This is our chance to be heard! We urgently need the next government to champion climate and nature. If we speak up now and show politicians that climate votes helped get them elected, we can hold them to account for climate action when they form the next government. Don’t ask, don’t get! What are the most powerful climate actions you can take? The expert view: 1. Vote- half of the world’s population is voting this year so vote for politicians who pledge strong climate measures. Laws and public fundings can make the greatest difference. Europe should lead the way. 2- reduce flying and fossil-fuel powered transport in favour of electric and public transport: walk, take the train, a bike … it’s also better for your health 3- eat less meat - and change your heating/ cooling system 4- protest, make your voice heard

Europeans, can you repeat these two sentences after me and remember them forever? Especially next weekend. 🇪🇺 Individual behavior doesn't change the climate crisis. Voting for the right politicians does. Individual behavior doesn't change the climate crisis. Voting for the right politicians does. Individual behavior doesn't change the climate crisis. I emailed one of my prospective election candidates last week asking what his personal and party stance was on climate change. I was actually really pleased with his answer which covered (at some level), all the key things I believe Government should be doing about climate change. For me, it was less about what he actually said, and more about trying to influence views on actions/policies/priorities should they get into a position of power. ❌ Have you emailed your candidates yet? ❌ If not, will you do likewise? ❌ What is your view on trying to influence policies this way? Worth doing or not? Let me know in the comments below!

Climate Obstruction Across Europe, coordinated by the Climate Social Science Network (CSSN) and published via Oxford University Press, reveals extensive networks impeding climate action within the region and surrounding states. In Italy and Germany, far-right networks spread misinformation by questioning climate science’s validity, while in Spain and the UK, blame-shifting and deflecting responsibility for climate action are common. European-based fossil fuel industries engage in greenwashing, by framing gas as a ‘bridging technology crucial for the energy transition’, delaying genuine progress...
