Greg Cangialosi’s Post

In our latest post, I talk about one of the more critical stages of caregiving for our aging loved ones, the “Health Immersion” stage. It was during this challenging period where I found the inspiration to start Twilight. In this post, I talk about my experience navigating my Mom's health journey, and the critically important basics everyone should have an awareness and understanding of. Having access to healthcare providers, active medications and chronic conditions is essential. What most people think of as a daunting and tedious undertaking should not be the case in 2024. This is where our work is and where it began at Twilight. Making it easy to get the full map of your loved one’s health journey. When you're in the position of caring for an aging loved one, there more often than not, will come a time where you will need to deepen your involvement with their overall health and well being. This is a stage we refer to as "Health Immersion," and can be one of the more challenging, yet critically important, stages to get your arms around. In this post, we talk through the myriad of challenges that one can face when trying to properly advocate for a loved one. A basic understanding of who their healthcare providers are, what medications they're actively on, what conditions are beings treated (both chronic and acute), should be one of your base goals. This particular challenge is what served as our founder's initial inspiration for our platform, the Illuminator, which pulls all of this together from a loved ones medical claims. Having this base understanding of your loved ones health journey will hopefully lead to more confident and empowered advocating.
