Charles River achieves 100% Renewable Electricity globally. In 2019 Charles River created our EHS&S Strategic Plan and developed KPIs (both leading and lagging indicators) to mark our progress towards our vision of Working Safely and Sustainably. In December 2020 we publicly announced our 2030 sustainability goals including utilizing 100% renewable electricity at our facilities globally and cutting GHG emissions 50% from these facilities. Starting from 0.5% renewable electricity in our baseline year of 2018 I am extremely proud to announce this Earth Day that as of January 1, 2024 Charles River has achieved 100% renewable electricity use globally, just a little over three years after making this public commitment. Thanks to the hard work of so many incredibly talented, passionate and dedicated colleagues both within Charles River and within the trusted partners we work so closely with we have achieved our renewable electricity goal six years early! And with this achievement I can also state we are targeting an approximately 45% reduction in GHG emissions from our facilities by year end 2024.
