Today is my birthday ! The most common way we celebrate birthdays is by eating cake and maybe a happy birthday message or call . If you are lucky someone hosts a party in your name with the birthday boy or girl receiving gifts too - lots or litte depending on the size of the party. But should birthdays be more than that? Today I find myself, on my birthday, reflecting on my role in my life , in the lives of my family , my community and my country That journey all started with my birthday . In that sense a “birth “ day is the single most important day in your life . And the annual birthday that follows is your annual state of your nation… Since we” own that day “ how do we make it even more significant ? I think back to Nelson Mandela and him having a big party for children of Qunu on his birthday and then how his birthday has sparked off an an annual act of giving So what can I do beyond my birthday that can impact greater society,? How can we make our birthdays a most significant day in other peoples lives So this is what I want to do … I champion people right ? So how about I champion someone or a cause that’s really important to you ? So how you can tag me and mention the person and cause and I’ll share it . It’s my small way of getting far more people a seat at the table . Birthdays are so much more than having you cake and eating it ,

Celebrating birthdays in a fun and meaningful way for those in the helping or service professions. Here are some ideas: For Personal Celebration: Themed Sessions: On your birthday, consider doing a themed session focused on growth, reflection, or gratitude. You could incorporate fun activities like guided meditations or journaling prompts. Client Appreciation: Use your birthday as an opportunity to express gratitude to your clients. You could send out personalized thank-you notes or small tokens of appreciation. *This depends on what type of client or business relationship you have. Mini Workshop or Group Session: Host a special workshop or group session on a topic you love, inviting colleagues to join. This can be a great way to celebrate by sharing your passion and expertise. Creative Expression: Create a piece of art or playlist that reflects your journey as a coach or therapist. Self-Care Day: Take the day to indulge in self-care activities that you might not usually have time for, such as a spa day, a nature walk, or spending time with loved ones. Another way is to do nothing, but relax and gather with friends or family in the evening. Whatever you decide to do...have a wonderful day!

Let's redefine what birthdays really mean for our little ones Yesterday marked the celebration of my daughter's birthday. As we all happily decorated with balloons, one girl said her birthdays are always "very grand" with big pizzas and fancy return gifts. That got a boy excited, and he said he'd celebrate his next birthday in a 5-star hotel. It got me thinking about how kids see things. Birthdays are meant to be fun times, where friends come together to share joy. It's about enjoying each other's company, making cool memories, and working together. The real deal is all about spreading happiness and building strong friendships. In a world where big celebrations often mean expensive stuff, it's important for kids to know the true meaning of birthdays – a time to celebrate togetherness and make awesome memories that stick with us. 🎉 I have created a simple guide for parents on "Talking to Kids." The older I get the more I realize how unimpressive my own birthday is… I turn 31 today and all I can really think is… Nice. Another year survived on earth. Now, maybe that’s a bit cynical, but hear me out. — In reality, other celebrations are far superior. Here are 3 celebrations that I would say are worth celebrating more than adult birthdays. Your kids birthdays! - You actually kept another human alive and trained them up for another year. That’s a celebration worth having! Wedding Anniversaries! - This might be the biggest thing to celebrate. For anyone who is married or has been married, you know how much effort, communication and work it takes. It’s the greatest journey, but can be a challenging one when two imperfect people commit to each other for the rest of their lives. Celebrate this at every opportunity! Work anniversaries! - These are something that I’m extremely proud of. To grind, work and succeed year after year at a job takes effort, determination, and faithfulness, teamwork, grit and a whole host of other things. This is absolutely worth celebrating! Don’t get me wrong, birthdays are great and all it takes work to thrive and grow year after year, but these three are harder imho. What else is on this list? I’m sure I’m missing some.

I wasn't planning on celebrating my birthday this year. Ain't nobody got time for that - right? There are deadlines to meet, paperwork to fill.. I don't have time to celebrate my birth- Oooh maybe that is the point of adult birthdays. To force us busy adults to stop and reflect. Reflect on what an additional year of experience brought them. For me.. In the last year I learnt about self care. I am proud to say I no longer feel guilty about having downtime in the evening. I am human -not a machine. Things need to be done but it doesn't need to be done 24/7... ... I think adult birthdays need to be marked. For ourselves. So if you have a birthday in the next twelve months.. This is your must-have present 🎁: A slot on your calendar 📆. Indulge yourself in 1. Insight. Turn the log of the past year into a introspective journal so so you can build on what you learnt. 2. Nourishing Friendships. Allow yourself to connect with old friends who reach out. Many busy adults like myself have rich relationships with people .. that we never speak to... They were your best friend for a reason.. and although you don't interact as frequently as you used to.. they are still awesome people.

10 LESSONS I LEARNT FROM MY BIRTHDAY. 1. Every year provides you with an opportunity to be more intentional about what you do. It is left for you to either maximize the year or sleep on it. 2. That your little act of kindness that you think does not amount to anything, people really see it as something big. Don't stop doing it. 3. Every new age provides you an opportunity to be more impactful. 4. Every new age is a prophetic season in your life. It is your responsibility to maximize it as that window may not be open all the time. 5. Birthdays help you know some of those people that you are truly inspiring. 6. Every year grants you a new opportunity to be a better person. 7. Birthdays are opportunities for people to pour out their heart to you. However, you must not wait for birthday before you celebrate a person. 8. Birthdays bring new people closer to you and sends some old people away. 9. Birthdays are one of those seasons when people show you love the most. 10. Birthdays give you another 365 days to right the wrongs of the past. It gives you the grace to do things differently. Birthdays are very significant in a person's life. Till I write to you again. Don't forget that out of sight is not out of mind. I am rooting for you! Alutawriter✍️

Birthdays are more than just a number, they are a celebration of growth, experiences, and memories. Today, we take the time to reflect on our lives, evaluate our achievements, and make changes where necessary. Let's cherish the moments with our loved ones and celebrate like there's no tomorrow. After all, we will never have a chance to celebrate this day again. Let's take a moment to express gratitude to our parents for raising us up and thank the Almighty for all the attention, mercy, and guidance. Today, we celebrate our birthday and share our wishes like there will be no other chance to do so. We always have the opportunity to redefine what something means to us - a day, an experience, a difficulty. We have the power to choose the power we give something in our minds. So, here is my birthday declaration: Birthdays mean: a chance for self-reflection. Birthdays mean: I have the power to choose what I want to experience and how I want to feel today and always. Birthdays mean: an opportunity to focus on the wins, not the losses. Birthdays mean: another year of life is a gift, even if I’m not 100% where I want to be. Birthdays mean: I am a work in progress, and I choose to celebrate the progress. Do you want to change how you see your birthday? What else would you add? Wishing you to feel empowered enough to fill in the blanks however you wish. #celebrateyourself #birthdaysarespecial #evolveveryday #groweveryday #coachingforsuccess

Does your company have a standard for handling patients or consumers with a Date of Birth of February 29th? For those who have this birthday, they may celebrate it in a variety of ways - some on February 28th, others on March 1st, some choose not to celebrate at all and still others choose to do a celebration on their actual birthday every 4 years. When it comes to parties - to each their own! But when it comes to your systems and procedures, this is an anomaly that needs to be planned for and managed. Most agencies designate March 1st as the de facto date of recognition for years when February 29th is not observed. The rationale is that the person has not 'aged up' until the day itself. So, you are not one year older until March 1st those other years. And, for companies who use Julian Dates, they too need to consider how they will handle the 'extra' day that occurs every 4th year. Today is DAY 060 this year, but next year DAY 060 will go back to being March 1st. There is no doubt that little glitches will be found in the coming days or weeks as the Leap Year confounds things just a bit. It's just one day, but it makes all the difference. And, although it's been going on for millennia, it's still not 'top of mind' for most when they're planning things out. Hope you have a Happy Leap Day! (And, by the way, "Happy Birthday!" to any Leap Year babies.)
