As a business owner in the commercial real estate industry (and former Propheteer), I enjoyed reading this interview. As the interview stated, commercial real estate is a very competitive industry. The relationships between marketing, sales, and executive management within organizations – especially within a low-margin business like brokerage – can sometimes seem tense and conflicted. I agree with Brad Kreiger's premise that demand and sales enablement are the biggest benefits that marketing can provide to the sales teams. The ability to differentiate and continually drive recognizable value is especially important in this period of decreased revenues, high expenses, relatively high debt with higher interest costs, and cost-cutting. There was also discussion about shifting the frame of reference for what this business has been for the last 100 years. In addition to the adoption of new marketing strategies, AI, PropTech, etc., many of the future changes in business practices will be driven by the next generation of leaders.
