As in many countries, children living in government-run care facilities in Korea must leave when they turn 18. Taking the first step into society at this time can be a challenging and daunting prospect for young adults as they must adapt quickly to living truly independently. 🙋♂️🙋♀️ To help with this difficult transition, GS E&C supports those leaving care in a range of ways from providing psychological assessments and therapy programs to offering educational courses that strengthen self-reliance skills and provide opportunities to gain valuable job skills for their careers. 📚💼 Our programs are already in full swing for this year and we hope you can support us as we support our future generation! 🌱✨ #ESG #GrowSustainably #GSEnC #FutureGeneration

Fairy tales are not just for children! They have lessons for us adults too. We can learn about optimisation from Goldilocks, as this wise blond shows us how to select choices that are appropriate for ourselves and our children or students. Our brains develop at a certain pace from babies. If we introduce something too complex for them, or too easy, there is frustration or boredom. Our tendency in Asian culture might be to accelerate. But research tells us that is unhelpful and sometimes counterproductive. While age can be used as a guide, there are differences in development among children of the same age, and even among siblings. So let’s not compare, but let’s nurture everyone where they are. Director of The International Educator (TIE), founder and consultant at Vision.Systems.Impact Collaborative and Facilitator of the International SEL Framework
Over the past several years, a collaborative effort involving multiple individuals and educational institutions has culminated in the creation of an International Social and Emotional Learning (ISEL) Framework. This outcomes-based framework has been specifically designed to assist international schools in the development of SEL programs within pre-kindergarten through twelfth-grade (PK-12) schools. Notably, this framework is now accessible under a Creative Commons License, making it freely available for any school interested in utilizing it to enhance their SEL program development. In additional to the ISEL Framework, there is an SEL in IB version organized around the IB ATL's. There is a wealth of information, including details about the framework, its creation, its organization, and a range accompanying tools to support implementation, can be found at www.internationalsel.com. Did you know that 75% of students in some form of 'higher education' or education beyond high school are non-traditional? How is that possible with still thousands of colleges and universities in the US? Because over decades, an increasing number of students in traditional higher ed do not attend traditional four-year institutions; rather, they attend community colleges or schools that are 'satellite' campuses of the anchor school. And these students have real lives: single moms; parent with children; folks with mortgages and jobs; people taking care of elderly parents or special needs children; people with different abilities. They can barely take a weekend 'vacay' let alone enough time or ability for 'enriching semester in 'study abroad' . Yet they too need to have their backyards broadened to understand the wider world they live in and how they are global citizens. I have spent decades working with joy on what I call 'Internationalizing the Classroom without Leaving the Room'.....designed with non-traditional students in mind!

Secrets to Success Introduction 5th Post of 18 IDH-3930, Fall 2024, FGCU Some cultures—their mix of perspectives and practices—yield more favorable outcomes than others. This is obvious in the extreme. Being born in South Korea, Switzerland, or Singapore is far more advantageous than being born in North Korea, Haiti, or Afghanistan. Typically, however, a culture’s comparative desirability is more nuanced, and we must examine the amount their underlying population moves along the Path of Fitness. The degree to which a culture enables its people to: 1. Secure sufficient territory and resources. 2. Provide increasing portions of its population: a. protection from predatory people, groups, and countries, b. clean water and healthy diets, c. adequate clothing and necessities, d. individual, marital, and family rights, e. quality healthcare, f. desirable education, occupation, residency, and actualization opportunities, g. sustainable lifestyles, h. three-generation life expectancy; and 3. Be demographically, culturally, economically, and innovatively competitive with other populations. #FGCUhonors #FGCUEntrepreneurs #FGCUClassof2028 #FGCUClassof2027 #FGCUClassof2026 #FGCUClassof2025

l admire the way learning essential life skills are added to the educational system in some Asian #educationalsystem. The children are taught at an early age how to clean up after themselves, tidy up their surroundings, survival skills and much more. However, I was discussing this with one of my colleague from Hong Kong and he talked about some of down side of their educational system and I love the #diversityandinclusion in our discussion, we tried to point out the different educational system around the world and how they can be harmonised to give the young generations a balance educational system and not to breed spoilt children who can't do anything for themselves on one end and children who are deprived of being children as he put it. #educationalsytem #inclusionanddiversity

Empowering young people is crucial for a productive future workforce. USAID Enterprise Development and Growth Enhanced (EDGE) project recognizes this need and has established a dynamic youth placement program specifically designed to bridge the gap between talented young adults and the job market. The challenge lies in effectively connecting the skillsets of young people with the evolving demands of businesses. USAID EDGE tackles this by providing comprehensive career guidance and mentorship opportunities. This approach prepares young individuals with the tools and confidence they need to navigate the job search process and secure meaningful employment. By providing a pipeline of qualified young talent, USAID EDGE strengthens the local economy and drives lasting systemic changes that create sustainable impact at scale. #USAID EDGE #youthengagement https://lnkd.in/da86BXfU
