“How can it happen? Why would someone with obvious intelligence, ambition and talent risk everything by falsifying data? Social psychology offers us a way to answer such questions […] To understand fraud in science, the useful lesson is the significance of that first tiny step. Every minor transgression — dropping an inconvenient data point, or failing to give credit where it is due — creates a threat to self-image. The perpetrators are forced to ask themselves: am I really that sort of person? Then, to avoid the discomfort of this threat, they rationalize and justify their way out, until their behaviour feels comfortable and right. This makes the next transgression seem not only easier, but even morally correct.” https://lnkd.in/dPUYhrXM

I will always refer to it as the "massive crazy fraud". We all know what I'm talking about. I honestly am beyond the point of caring if calling it that upsets or offends anyone. I'm old-school for life. If people get upset by the truth, that is not my problem. Nobody's feelings are more important than the truth. "Have a cry and get over yourself," as my granddad would say. In all fairness, we should be upset and offended by the people who took part in "the massive, crazy fraud". If they hadn't played along and believed crazy nonsense, the world wouldn't have changed, and all of our lives would not have been turned upside down. Millions would not be suffering unnecessarily. But we can't spend our lives blaming people for doing what they thought was best at the time. We may not understand other people, but we can at least respect them and show compassion. That is, after all, what makes our side the right side. We treat other people the way we would like to be treated, which is something people who support imposing rules, restrictions, and mandates on free men and women cannot understand and still need to learn. I know people who don't think like me may not like how I talk about "the massive crazy fraud", but again, I don't care. I don't speak up to be popular, obviously. I speak up for everyone's children, as unfortunately for me, I see what is coming so clearly, and that "massive crazy fraud" was only the beginning. #staywise #getstrong #behappy Connect and click the bell on my profile as we continue to defend our minds against peer pressure, propaganda, and mass formation.

Psychopaths walk among us, in business settings as well as personal ones. This is why it is important for companies of all kinds to have strong anti-fraud programs and checks on all employees, even the most trusted. Psychopaths are extremely manipulative and convincing and can come across as wonderful people, even though they are not. I have dealt with many during my career, and now help both individuals and businesses deal with the consequences of their trusting people who turn out to be very different than how they had portrayed themselves to be. #psychopaths #compliance #fraud #antifraud #consulting #attorney
