A captivating session today at CTS East Asia, where Cheah Poh Meng VP Asia Pacific of Marken shared pivotal lessons from the COVID-19 era. His insights on adaptability, innovation in crisis, and the power of collaboration were particularly striking. These lessons are not just reflections but guideposts for future strategies in our industry.

Another great evening with Agile London, hosted by Skyscanner. Here are my key takeaways:
1. Systems thinking is an alternative way to tackle problems, consider different perspectives and better understand how everything is interconnected
2. Creating a culture of learning from the top down is essential. Organisations will benefit significantly when teams have the opportunity to take a break from their hectic routines to collaborate and develop new skills
3. The job market is gradually improving. For those seeking new opportunities, stay resilient and keep networking 👊🏻
4. Navigating the West End on a Lime bike is quite an adrenaline rush! 😬
As we conclude this #20daysocialmediachallenge reflecting on the transformative experience at the Africa Agility Foundation bootcamp I want to extend my deepest appreciation to everyone who made this journey possible.
Today marks the final day of my #20daysocialmediachallengewithAA, and I want to share insights from a crucial session at the Africa Agility Foundation bootcamp: the Sprint Retrospective.
The Sprint Retrospective is a key Agile practice focused on continuous improvement. It's an opportunity for the team to reflect on the sprint that just ended and identify ways to improve future sprints. Here are the main takeaways:
Reflection: Team members discuss what went well, what didn’t, and why. This open dialogue helps uncover valuable insights and areas for improvement.
Collaboration: The retrospective fosters a culture of teamwork and mutual support, encouraging everyone to contribute their perspectives.
Actionable Improvements: The team identifies concrete actions to enhance processes and address any issues. These improvements are then implemented in the next sprint, driving continuous progress.
Celebration: Recognizing and celebrating successes, no matter how small, boosts team morale and motivation.
This session underscored the importance of continuous learning and adaptation. By regularly examining our work and making incremental improvements, we can achieve higher efficiency and better outcomes.
As we wrap up this challenge, the lessons from the Sprint Retrospective remind me of the value of constant growth and the power of teamwork. Thank you for following along on this journey!
With gratitude,
Ebere

🌟Day 16 of #20DaysinPMwithAA🌟 with Africa Agility
💡The Day's Objective 🌟: User Stories
Before I joined this Bootcamp, I used to confuse user stories with complaints and concerns that end users have about the products they are using. However, I now understand that user stories are actually a way of capturing features, requirements, and functionalities that a software application should have.
In agile development methodologies, user stories follow a specific format and criteria, commonly known as the "Three Cs":
💥Card: The user story is typically written on a physical or virtual card to represent its presence in the backlog or on the board.
💥Conversation: User stories are elaborated and discussed through conversations between team members, including developers, testers, and product owners. These discussions help clarify the details and expectations of the user story.
💥Confirmation: The user story is accompanied by acceptance criteria, which define the conditions that must be met for the user story to be considered complete and implemented successfully. These criteria help ensure that the team understands what is expected and can verify that the functionality meets the user's needs. #productmanagement#africaagility#gitbootcampcohort6#girlsintech#africangirlsintechbootcamp

SETTING EFFECTIVE SPRINT GOALS: BOOSTING TEAM PRODUCTIVITY AND SUCCESS
As Agile teams, we know that setting clear and achievable sprint goals is crucial for success. A well-defined sprint goal aligns the team, focuses efforts, and drives progress toward our product vision.
Why Sprint Goals Matter:
- Clarifies priorities and expectations
- Enhances team collaboration and motivation
- Provides a sense of accomplishment and progress
- Helps to manage stakeholder expectations
- Facilitates continuous improvement
Best Practices for Setting Sprint Goals:
1. Make it specific: Clearly define what needs to be achieved.
2. Keep it concise: Focus on a single, measurable objective.
3. Ensure it's achievable: Align with the team's capacity and capabilities.
4. Prioritize: Align with the product vision and business objectives.
5. Make it measurable: Quantify success with clear metrics or outcomes.
Example of a Well-Crafted Sprint Goal:
"Sprint Goal: Implement the new user onboarding feature, reducing the average user activation time by 30% within the next 2 weeks."

Fast & Furious start today for our 6th Agile week @ BNP Paribas Fortis, with as keynote speaker Rini Solingen, van who shared his insights on what people and organisations can learn from Formula 1. Namely:
🚥 F-ocus and clarity on your mission and objectives.
🚥 A-ccelerated decisions (Is it an irreversible decision? Then take time to align on it. Is it a reversible one? Then stop talking, start doing, to gather data and improve!)
🚥 S-implify: remove or enhance what reduces the speed.
🚥 T-eam engagement: understand that psychological safety is the first factor of a high-performing team (i.e. the feeling that you can be fully yourself with your colleagues, that it will be valued, and that more will come from the creative addition of your individualities.)
🚥 E-lementary physics, explaining that Acceleration = Force / Mass, i.e. that instead of using more force to accelerate, you can also reduce in your projects the mass/scope/the # of priorities.
🚥 R-hythmic learning: learn from what you do, on a regular basis. In Formula 1 racing, team debriefing takes longer than the race itself! In order to do better next time.
🏆 To make it stick, the first letters of each finding makes it all F-A-S-T-E-R!
Glad to be part of the department who organised it. #greatcolleagues#greatresult
