Asynchronous graphical array techniques
Instead of having the entire image be redrawn, either for a set amount of times per second or at a rate that varies based on the capabilities of the hardware, imagine a third option: only the individual pixels change. Clearly there are limitations implemented based on current architecture and standards of display technology, but if you consider the max possible refresh rate as being applied to each individual pixel instead of the whole display, we are already making improvements just based upon how we use it :)
This will likely be much easier to accomplish first with architecture that is capable of real-time path tracing, if applied in combination with previously discussed techniques regarding converting to a spherical coordinate system.

3wAnother stunning example of the teamwork and collaboration involved in bringing a simple sketch to life. Great work.
