I've been an avid and opinionated reader of The Economist for over 20 years, but this is the first time I've been quoted in there. What an honor! Thanks to Simon Rabinovitch for chatting with me about the state of the US labor market. https://lnkd.in/g8-fsRuJ
Guy, isn’t one problem with the unemployment rate as a reliable stat the classification as non-participating once unemployment benefits are exhausted for an individual? That is when we have a lot of unemployed, some drop off the statistic, even though they are still looking for work?
I follow Guy s as my official resource for the labor market. Guy made it to the point where he is his own brand.
Sounds like it’s time to renew my subscription. Nice work Guy Berger, Ph.D.
that's super cool.
That's awesome, Guy! What took them so long??!
Guy, that’s what I call a career milestone!
Congratulations Guy!
Very cool, Guy
And I can’t wait to say I know someone who was quoted in the Economist! Congrats Guy!

3wKudos on your interview and analysis, Guy! Now their readers will benefit from following you too. As a recruiter, I see labor supply and demand in key manufacturing sectors more volatile with tribal knowledge evaporating at alarming rates. The retirement of our baby boomers without ample succession models in place will require some organizations hire 2-3 employees to make up for the output and knowledge of a long-tenured employee departing. This is not speculative, this is our reality.
