Tomorrow I run the second session of 'How to Run a BRILLIANT Workshop'. My mission - to help artists teach brilliantly so we can change the world for the better. We'll be looking at designing and planning: how to create a space where people learn - physically, emotional, psychologically; how you take people through a complex learning journey; how you make every exercise more than it seems to be. We'll be looking at some of the key things you need to consider (and do) to turn your workshop from 'passing on information' into transformative, brilliant and life-changing. I'll share insights from 30 years of running workshops in the first part of the session, then there'll be time for conversation and questions. Working on new cabaret characters… 💃 It’s a lot of fun! The creative process can be frustrating at times, but it’s also incredibly fulfilling when it goes right. Still, the work we do is always developing and changing. It’s the nature of live performance (especially cabaret) that the audience will affect your approach in some way, whether it’s subtly or outright - like if you’re reacting to their energy vs. involving them actively. The work changes every night we perform, and it keeps growing.
