I just love when someone calls into the office to ask why we haven't replied to the email they'd sent 5 minutes ago! :-D

One thing AI tools have given me and my team is the most rapid response times imaginable. We are so fast we need to now remind ourselves that non augmented humans who don’t use AI are very very very slow. We can’t tell who uses AI tools by their response times.

Replace "immediately" with "at all", and/or "respond to my requests immediately" with "send any feedback" and this will more closely represent how most recruiters actually handle applications.

Have you noticed lately how long it takes to get service in a retail store or find someone at a Lowe's or Home Depot. It can be very long and you may have to hunt someone down. Or wait in line to ask a question of the person you tracked down is helping someone else. So why do people expect HR to answer immediately? They are busy partnering with other company departments people!

That's a good question from people to HR. 🎯 HR people might not be able to fulfill the request immediately but responding immediately to let the person know you received the request is a great way to demonstrate #empathy and provide a reasonable timeframe so everyone has #clarity about #expectations.

I sometimes reply with this when I have too many demands at once...

I think this is true for all people as well! Let's stop hoping that the second you send people a message, they are going to stop everything they are doing, and hop on over to solve your problem or support you. It's high time we start viewing each other as humans as opposed to a transaction that helps us reach closer to our goals!

Yess, this is gold 🤣 It takes time to solve most things and the expectation of instant gratification is in full force. A gentle reminder that we would much rather give them the right answer of a vague answer.
