Ensuring energy efficiency while maintaining service quality is a critical concern for display devices, especially for portable systems. As existing literature usually focuses on addressing this concern for a specific area, a feasibility analysis of integrating individually developed technologies is required. To address this issue, a letter entitled "A case study on integrating energy‐efficient technologies for display devices" has been published in the Electronics Letters, Wiley. This work proposes an integrated display system to simultaneously reduce energy consumption in memory usage and backlight of display devices, which are addressed independently in the existing literature. The proposed scheme can process images adaptively to reduce energy consumption while maintaining image quality.
