Ever heard of #coolcationing? It is a relatively new travel trend gaining traction due to rising temperatures. As people increasingly seek relief from scorching summer #heatwaves, the term “coolcation” refers to summer holidays in destinations with cooler climates. Nordic countries are becoming the "coolest" choices for travelers. Bookings across Scandinavia are up 27% compared to last year. Research by the EU paints a concerning picture. In the most alarming scenario, Greece, a traditional summer hotspot, could see tourism demand plummet by more than 7% compared to 2019 while cooler destinations like Sweden, Denmark, and Finland could see demand rise by more than 6%. However, it’s all relative: these parts of the planet are not immune to rising average #temperatures; in fact, the latitudes farthest from the equator – now viewed as a haven - are warming at the fastest rate. Temporary fixes like this can be effective for now, but when it comes to climate catastrophe, we must address the root cause, not just relocate the problem.

Coolcationing highlights our adaptability to climate change, but it’s a reminder that we need lasting solutions. Shifting travel patterns won’t solve the root issue; let’s focus on sustainable actions to combat global warming effectively.

Hi Hakan, Hokkaido is our 'coolcationing' spot to escape the heat and humidity of the Philippines from May-September (Sapporo is situated at the same latitude as Milan and Toronto). I'm involved in a project called 'both countries' that includes Japan/Philippines living based on the 6 month visas for each country with blue carbon offsets to wipe out carbon emissions from your travel. With the Yen exchange rate at a 36 year low to USD, Japan living costs are often less expensive than the Philippines!

Hello Mr. Hakan, your customer service is incredibly bad. I have been meeting with your team leaders for 3 days. I asked the first solution officer I spoke to, Mr. Erkan, to get back to me, but there was no call back. The problem will not be solved by constantly opening records. Is there no one following these?
