The Order of Australia relies on nominations from the community. Your nomination is just the beginning: after someone is nominated for recognition by the Order of Australia, an independent case officer in the Australian Honours and Award Secretariat begins extensive research using the information provided as a starting point. This includes contacting referees provided by the nominator and contacting other potential referees independently to ensure plenty of information about the individual is available. The purpose of this process is to ensure that the Council of the Order of Australia has the most complete information possible when considering whether someone should be recognised. Find out more about who can be nominated here: https://bit.ly/3wL7IYq Or, nominate someone now at this link: https://bit.ly/3W3BJwF Council for the Order of Australia #OrderofAustralia #AboveandBeyond #AustralianHonoursandAwards #Inspiring

🌍YAGHMA strongly believes that #RRI implementation into territories' innovation systems is key to ensuring a responsible, sustainable, and inclusive #TwinTransition. 💡 This is why we are happy to use our expertise to take part and support initiatives and projects pushing forward this belief. Within the TetRRIS Project, YAGHMA contributed to the development of roadmaps and action plans for all pilot regions, as well as the monitoring of risks and key opportunities for adopting RRI. 👇 Follow TetRRIS Project to learn more about TetRRIS engagement!
💥 Today TetRRIS has been attending the RRI-Leaders Final Conference at the Committee of the Regions in Brussels . In the morning session dedicated to general implementation aspects of RRI, the TetRRIS Project Officer from the European Commission reiterated how #RRI dimensions are catalysts of sustainable regional development 📈 and how they can lead to higher #openness and #transparency in regions. In the afternoon panel session dedicated to sister projects titled "RRI in territorial policymaking: the wider pictures", TetRRIS outcomes 🔎 have been presented by Nina Rilla from our coordinating partner VTT. It has been noticed and at length debated that challenges to RRI implementation have a common root in different European regions and are widespread despite different social, economic and cultural fabrics. If you wanna read more about #TetRRIS final results, do not forget to have a look at the Policy Brief 👉 https://buff.ly/3RGawOk

New horizons for Corus International on the European arena, contributing to drug and alcohol policy discussions, mapping the future actions and directions in countries such as Ukraine. Did you know that there’s growing evidence of drug and alcohol abuse shaping up as the top leading causes of #genderbasedviolence (#GBV) and #domesticviolence in Ukraine? We are not even scratching the surface of the looming catastrophe of mental health crisis amongst the veterans of war, ex combatants and their families and communities that will have to embrace their rehabilitation and reintegration. Least to note how timely it is to talk about the critical steps INGOs and the government should be urgently discussing enforcing prevention, treatment and referral pathways related to these issues. Proud of having Zaza Tsereteli championing our strategic thinking in these critical conversations referenced above in Ukraine as well as globally in addition to now being on the board of HIV/AIDS International Council of Aids Service Organizations (#ICASO) pursuing no less important focus of combatting HIV, including in Ukraine. I have been a full member of ABI for over 20 years. I have held positions on its governing council off and on during that time and I have watched it mature. In an unregulated sector I realised that I had to find a way of demonstrating compliance and accountability in one go. The ABI was the answer for me. For those that seek to instruct investigators and process servers (to trust them with confidential information) then in my opinion ABI is the safest choice. For fellow investigators - apply now. Membership will help your business, your skills and knowledge, your range of contacts, your professional development and reputation. #Abiprofessional #solicitors #lawyer

Meet the AGA-SP Experts Our guest today is George Mukundi Wachira, AGA-SP Long-time Expert to the Pan-African Parliament. George qualified his time providing technical support to the PAP as "a great honour and privilege". He noted that "PAP is not only a technical organ but is equally highly political" which necessitated adaptability and innovation. For him, some of PAP's key milestones during the project are : 1️⃣ Improved awareness and ratification of AU Shared Values instruments . 2️⃣ Revision of the PAP draft rules of procedure to, among others, facilitate the adoption of the AU principle of rotation of its leadership. 3️⃣ Improved engagement with citizens including scaled up media engagement. As the current phase of the project ends, his key takeaways include recognizing the importance of enhancing citizen engagement in AU policy-making and investing in transversal initiatives among AGA Platform Members.

Last day yesterday at the helm of the Hellenic Competition Commission for a little more than 4 years. It has been a very enriching experience, with quite important challenges, as we completely revamped the institution, in terms of organization, technological and technocratic capabilities and learning, new design of procedures, (international and national) outreach and an important amount of significant decisions breaking new ground in competition law enforcement (not only in Greece but also in Europe). This despite the pandemic, energy and inflationary crises we had to grapple with in recent years and important staff shortages. 2023 finishes with a record amount of fines imposed by the authority and more than 200 million euros of direct consumer benefits (the authority bringing to the consumers direct benefits of around 31-32 euros per 1 euro of operational expenses). More statistics and info in Issue 8 of the latest newsletter (in Greek). A great thank you to all my collaborators/staff at the HCC for the great work they have accomplished the last few years in very difficult conditions and for the progress we have managed to achieve. All the very best wishes of success to the new Head of the Authority, Judge M. Sarp! From my part, I am moving to new ventures (academic and some competition law enforcement related - to be announced soon) but will always support the cause of active competition law enforcement in Greece (and Europe) and the necessary engagement with civil society to ground the competition culture in all aspects of our economic and social life. I firmly believe that past competition law enforcement experience is a privilege that should not be "waisted" to serve particular business interests and for "positioning" specific vested interests views within academia and international fora, but should be used with the purpose to enhance civil society/the public interest in order to make markets work for people. More initiatives on that front soon... https://lnkd.in/dj4JeNFh
