Today is the 7th anniversary of moving to the Island to live. The move was part of creating the next chapter of the way we wanted to live, work, and do business. It was a calculated risk as you can never be 100% sure something will work out unless you give it a go. You can research, plan, and think things through to reduce risk as much as possible, which we did. We also created a contingency plan in case it didn’t work out to give ourselves a safety net. Once you have done all of that, you just have to decide if it is a risk worth taking as there is no guarantee it will all work out. One of my sayings since leaving my corporate career over 20 years ago is, "I would rather give something a go, even if it doesn't work out than spend the rest of my life wondering what might have been." And so, we went for it. Island life has turned out well for us. We love it. It is a dream come true. But even if it hadn’t worked out, at least we would have known and wouldn’t be living with the regret of not trying to create the life we wanted at some later date. So, as we celebrate our 7th anniversary of moving here, I feel grateful we took the leap, stepped into uncertainty and gave it a go. If we hadn't taken that calculated risk, we would have always wondered what might have been and would have missed out on this wonderful way of living, working, and doing business. #mindset #change #personalgrowth #personaldevelopment
