It's my first time attending the Ascend Leadership National Convention #ascendcon2024 (and my first time in Las Vegas 🌆), and I have been so welcomed by the warm sun and vivacious energy of the city. As Day 1 is wrapping up, it's been absolutely incredible to hear stories from Asian professionals that are role models to so many, and to be a part of discussions related to being an Asian professional in the corporate world today. Here are some of my highlights of the day so far, and I can't wait to continue to share my learnings with you as this week continues: ✨ Wellness Lounge is heavenly. What a great idea for a convention for folks to unwind and also connect, while having fun wandering the space. My favorites so far have been the foosball tables and the little crafts tables like making bracelets. ✨ The theme of this year to Lead Together is so impactful. Thank you Anna Mok for the reminder that we are a mosaic, not a monolith, and that it is so powerful to continue to celebrate one another and give back to our communities and spread kindness. ✨ Felt so empowered and energized during the Women of Ascend Symposium, especially after hearing the stories of Asian women that also come from Immigrant and First-Generation Immigration families, like myself. Here are some of my key takeaways that I hope resonate with you as well: 💡 Allison Lin 林宜蓁 reminding us that survival is not necessarily of the fittest, but of the most adaptable in the workplace. It's important to be authentic, and be your real self to your colleagues, project teams, etc. 💡 Lata Reddy reminding us that it takes all of us together to create change and impact in the workplace, and that if you want to go far, then you should go together. 💡 Dipti Gulati reminding us to continue to support and uplift the next generation of professionals, and to acknowledge that we are all on this journey together. 💡 Ana Dutra sharing that there are 3 things nobody can take away from you, and they are - your values, your credentials, and your relationships. 💡 Shelly Kapoor Collins exemplifying that when we invest in our communities, we are also investing in ourselves. & I have a lot more learnings and insights from just today alone, so if interested, please connect with me! Or if you see me around the convention, please say hello 😊 Ascend Leadership Huge thank you to Clarkston Consulting for giving me this opportunity to attend this convention as the Pan-Asian Network Lead! #HonestHannah #FirstGeneration #AsianAmerican
