🇺🇸JEFFREY SACHS: "We are on a path to World War III right now—nothing is explained, nothing is told to us, and we have no choices. The CIA comes in, conducts the briefings, and off we go to military escalation. The public is profoundly unhappy, and the students are getting beaten up; faculty are getting arrested because you're not supposed to speak about this. Then there's this concoction that this is about anti-Semitism—give me a break. I'm a Jewish professor at Columbia University. This is not about anti-Semitism; this is about a slaughter that is taking place in Gaza right now, and the American people don't like it. They don't like our complicity in it, and they are protesting it—that's what this is about. But we don't behave in any reasonable way right now, not even to discuss these things honestly, to know the facts, or to have hearings where our executive is called to account by Congress. This was one of the fundamental roles that Congress was supposed to play. It's laughable to think that this is how anything works right now—it doesn't. I know it doesn't. There is no accountability whatsoever. There are closed-door briefings, and then, if you approach a congressman or senator, as I often do, they say, 'Well, Jeff, I'm just not supposed to talk about such matters. I'm sure you understand.' In the meantime, we have our NATO allies talking about moving troops to Ukraine, and Russia entering tactical nuclear drills right now. This is crazy. This is what you read about on the path to World War I, when a few people decided the fate of the world. We had made a claim that because we are a republic, it couldn't happen here, but starting in 1947, it has been happening here repeatedly. That's the year of the National Security Act; that's the year when we went secret, and now we cannot hold our government accountable because everything is confidential." Excerpt from remarks by Professor Jeffrey Sachs, American economist and academic, in an interview with Judge Napolitano, May 6, 2024. By Sony Thang on X We need diplomacy for #Peace not WW3 Thank you professor Jeffrey Sachs 🙏🙏🙏

Hans Lak, we have had all this century after century. The problem are not the millions of people who suffer. It just needs one Hitler, Napoleon, Stalin or Putin and a few people around who follow and don't stop these bullies. Jeffrey Sachs, with all his good intentions, failed in his work in Eastern Europe in the 1990s because he didn't realise, that his audience didn't listen to him, didn't share his vision and didn't follow a path to democracy, freedom, shared wealth. He failed, because he didn't listen to his clients, didn't look at the things they did. Jeffrey Sachs's path is that of Neville Chamberlain and a dream for a solution in diplomacy. Yes, true, that will eventually happen, but not in 1936, not in 1939 it took all the way, the suffering, the brutality, the genocide to 1945. Putin's Russia is no different. Putin came to power in 1999 with terror and war. That will be the end. That was Putin's choice. Just like it has ever been. Jeffery Sachs should listen to and realise what Neville Chamberlain did ultimately: from Munich https://youtu.be/SetNFqcayeA Declaration of war https://youtu.be/bpQ9Bn8DR74 Neville Chamberlain Resignation Speech Nazi Germany's attack on Holland and Belgium https://youtu.be/h7hiMKu9JCE

A question. What do you think will happen if Nato does not take action and let Russia win?If you think Putin will stop with Ukraine you are wrong .He will move on to other countries.

If you like history, I recommend reading about the 1930s, the resemblance to our time is higher. Choosing 1917 and ignoring the Munich conference looks like cherry picking from history. Anyone who advocates for Ukraine to "negotiate" (gave up territory) with Russia, and asks Israel to stop the war without demanding Palestinians to "compromise" has zero intellectual credibility. We have been using diplomacy with Russia for over 20 years, and should have changed posture to treat them as an enemy in 2008, 2014 at the latest

Can’t have diplomacy when every talking head in the White House vilifies and insults those we need to sit down with and end these conflicts. It is not a minor thing to keep your enemies close. When you insult men with enormous egos, they are less likely to compromise on anything. We need a person who can talk to all, without insults and vilification. No one is without fault, we need to convince others that by continuing to conduct actions that result in death no one is winning. We must show a win/win solution. Take the cheap shots out of the press’ quotes and be like men. Agree to disagree and get on with the safety and prosperity of people.

He was right about Syria and he's right about Ukraine and Gaza.

I also cry for the 38 Israeli kids & others killed on 10/7, but this horrible conflict didn't start on that day. The proof is the nearly 2300 Palestinian kids killed by Israeli soldiers & settlers between 2000 & Oct 2023, including 43 kids during the 9 months just before 10/7 (all names & details on BTselem.org) Israel has also imposed a brutal blockade of Gaza since 2005, limiting everything from food, water, & medical supplies, to fuel, electricity, machine parts, & internet service. Israel never left Gaza as they claim, they just converted it from a concentration camp that they control from the inside, to one they control from the outside — making it easier to regularly bomb without risk to Israelis, while consistently killing more Palestinian women & children than suspected combatants. And now Israel is reaccelerating its genocide & mass ethnic cleansing in Gaza with the weapons, funding, & diplomatic cover that WE, the U.S., keep providing. >15K MURDERED CHILDREN + >10K MURDERED WOMEN = >65% of the dead = U.S. Funded GENOCIDE 🙏Please write & call your representatives to demand they stop helping Israel kill children & maintain its brutal, racist apartheid with our tax dollars.
