Here are some fun and interesting facts about Redwood Credit Union: Community Reach and Size: Redwood Credit Union serves over 415,000 members across several counties including Sonoma, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, Mendocino, Lake, Contra Costa, and Solano. As of July 31, 2022, it is the largest credit union in the North Bay, boasting $7.6 billion in assets. History and Development: Founded in 1950 by seven employees of the County of Sonoma, it later changed its name to Redwood Credit Union in 1982 to reflect the increased demand for affordable financial services in the North Bay. By 2004, RCU's membership had reached 100,000 and by 2007, its assets had grown to $1 billion. They also moved into a new corporate building in Santa Rosa, CA, which is recognized as a silver LEED-Certified green building. Recognition and Awards: RCU has been recognized by Forbes as one of "America's Best Small Employers 2023". It has received the title of the healthiest credit union in California and ranked sixth healthiest in the nation among large credit unions. The credit union has also been acknowledged as the "Best Credit Union" by the readers of Press Democrat every year and has achieved numerous other accolades including a 5‐Star Bauer Rating and an A+ Excellent Rating from Weiss Ratings. Community Impact and Services: RCU is committed to helping its members improve their lives and making a positive difference in the community. It has been active in this regard since 1950, aiding people in achieving their financial goals and dreams. The credit union offers a full range of financial services for both personal and business use, including checking, savings, loans, credit cards, investments, insurance, and auto purchasing/brokerage. Employee Base: Employing 720 individuals, RCU contributes significantly to local employment. Moreover, RCU has been named one of the best places to work for the 17th consecutive year by the North Bay Business Journal. These facts paint a picture of a credit union deeply rooted in its community, committed to providing excellent service and value to its members, and recognized both locally and nationally for its stability, service, and workplace culture. We're ending the week with a pair of opportunities that are still open with Five Counties Children's Centre. One is urgent, so please take a look. Five Counties Children's Centre was founded by Rotary members who saw a need for a close clinic where children with disabilities could get treatment and therapy without parents/ caregivers driving to Toronto. Nearly 50 years later, the client list is in the six-thousands, with over 2000 wait-listed . With numbers like that, you can see how fundraising events are very important. Their Backyard Summer Social is coming up on the 22nd and they need help with set-up, operations, and tear-down. Because it's an adult-oriented event, the volunteers must be over 19 yrs old. The event is in the backyard of the centre, and accessible by public transit. And there will be snacks! We'll give you the event recruitment link right now so that you can contact Maddie: https://buff.ly/3Vge4XH If you're more of a sit-down-and-chat kind of person (or are busy on the 22nd) there is also a need for Donation Thankyou Callers. It's pretty much as described. People send money to Five Counties and bi-weekly for a couple of hours, you call those nice people back to thank them for that very important donation. And if you're unable to afford a donation yourself, this is a way you can contribute more than money. It's a remote opportunity and time-flexible. You will need a basic police check for this one, NOT the Vulnerable sector screening. This listing is on our Opportunities page. Five Counties is a vital part of our community, especially for anyone who has a disabled child in their care. Supports for these children help them thrive and grow, and shatter barriers themselves. See how you can help today. #CommunityBuilding #Inclusion #FUNdraising #ThankYou #SummerFun

It was an honor to serve RaiseUp Families as their Executive Director for nearly 4 years. In that time, the organization experienced unprecedented growth: ✅ Expanded Board of Directors by 50% ✅ Doubled the number of families (clients) being served ✅ Client outcomes improved by 100% (average income increase in signature 9-month HandUp program went from 35% - 71%) ✅ Client graduation rate improved from 80% to 91% ✅ Revenue growth from $450,000 to $1,000,015 (donations from private sources) These outcomes are a result of the Board of Directors and staff working together towards a common goal, each person utilizing their unique skills and abilities in their individual role to help the bus arrive at its desired destination. They are the result of hours and hours of innovation, hard work, and determination. As RaiseUp Families celebrates its 30th Anniversary of stabilizing families from vulnerable communities who face unexpected financial crises so their children can focus on their education, giving them the opportunity for a better life, it needs a full-time leader with passion, vision, and experience to lead it forward. I could not be happier that Kate Yadan will pick up this torch and lead RaiseUp into the future! "We know that change is a natural part of life, and those who embrace it grow while those who do not slowly die, metaphorically. Two of the largest obstacles to change are ego and pride. Moving out of our own way is the toughest battle most of us will face. Giving up our seat for someone else, stepping down when it's time for someone else to step up, and gracefully exiting when we have added all the value we can, are what we should all strive for." -Angela Burgess, Are You on the Right Bus?
We are THRILLED to annouce a big change at RaiseUp Families! After a rigorous search, Kate Yadan was named our newest Executive Director as of March 1, 2024! Kate's knowledge and experience are unparalleled, and more importantly, her passion for stabilizing families from vulnerable communities so their children have the opportunity for a brighter future knows no bounds. We are incredibly grateful to Angela Burgess for sharing her vision and leadership with our clients, our staff, our board of directors, and our community over the last four years and wish her well in her future endeavors! Come out and welcome Kate at our 2024 RaiseUp Families Graduation Celebration! Sponsorships and Tickets are on sale now: https://lnkd.in/g3pn6Bjk

Last week I spent a full day with the leadership team of Presbyterian Senior Living in Dillsburg PA. as one of our activities, I’d asked each of PSL’s 30 communities to bring a decorated pickle jar to help us launch The Pickle Challenge for Charity. I said that I would use my own arbitrary and capricious criteria to select winning entries for categories that I would create. I was blown away by their creativity! These are just a few of the contest entries. They weren’t just decorated pickle jars – they were artistic creations! Not only that, many of the participants also had Pickle Free Zone t-shirts, hats, and other paraphernalia. The pickle jar decorating contest is typically the first activity in launching The Pickle Challenge for Charity. Making people more aware of their own negative attitudes, including chronic complaining, is an important step toward creating a more positive Culture of Ownership. The Pickle Challenge is fun, it’s free, and it gives people a soft-touch, lighthearted way to hold themselves and each other to higher standards of behavior at work. You can download the free DIY Implementation Guide at www.PicklePledge.com. And feel free to email or message me if you need help.
