Uber just announced exciting updates for Uber drivers (and riders), focused on safe driving. Well done to the Cambridge Mobile Telematics and Uber teams working together on this product to incentivize safe driving with telematics-based insights and CMT driving scores.
Well, there are dozens of other things they could do. 1. Pay us better. 2. Stop obscuring our map guidance 2 blocks before dropoffs at busy intersections, so we need to touch the screen to see where to go. 3. Make the app GPS better.
Big kudos to Uber and Cambridge Mobile Telematics for rolling out these driver-focused updates! The new Advantage Mode and Driving Insights dashboard are game changers for enhancing driver safety and earnings. Prof. Hari Balakrishnan, how do you think these changes will impact overall rider satisfaction?
Sir, It's great to know about this fantastic collaboration! Also, I am curious whether the futuristic self-driving cars can use this technology (where scores are given to the driver based on their actions while driving) or are these two parallel tracks?
That is great, also what @Uber is doing to mitigate vehicle safety itself. Yesterday I took an Uber ride, and the noise from the car made me think as if the wheels were going to come out in the middle of the freeway.
At long last! Now yellow taxi in Nyc please ☺️
Wow that's great Hari Balakrishnan Congratulations to you and the CMT team. Great to see your safety impact going beyond insurance channels to ride sharing.
fantastic - always nice to see how data directly benefits people at scale
Amazing win in that sector.
Well done! Hari Balakrishnan
Hari Balakrishnan - so proud of you and the Cambridge Mobile Telematics team!
