What should organizations and leaders prioritize in 2024 to boost their effectiveness and enhance engagement among their teams? Here are five proven, practical strategies to consider. 1. Start with the positive. Start your next team huddle by having everyone share one highlight from their week. This will generate the positive energy that successful leaders and teams thrive on. 2. Get to know people on a personal level. Numerous engagement studies have demonstrated that the relationship with an individual's immediate manager is a key factor in driving employee engagement. 3. Talk less, ask more. Rather than concentrating on what you want to say, focus on asking questions that will elicit the best ideas from the group. 4. Leverage AI to help with difficult conversations. Handling difficult conversations with tact and empathy is crucial for maintaining high team engagement. Practicing these conversations with AI helps leaders build confidence in managing such discussions effectively. 5. Take a break. A study by the American Psychological Association found that participants who took a 5-minute break during a 45-minute attention-demanding task performed better than those who didn't take any breaks.
