ECC Support ends in 2027, but does that really mean the transition to S/4HANA will be complete by then? ⏱️ There's a high chance that a large group of existing SAP customers won't be ready to fully make the switch by then, which might compel SAP to extend the deadline. Even those customers who made the switch to S/4 before 2020 will have to upgrade their systems yet again by 2025, as their version will also lose support then. What's more, SAP itself offers extended ECC support for a higher premium, which might be an offer quite a few companies will take. This solution allows companies to save time and costs of future migrations, increased productivity and better optimization of all company data. ⚠ Why is it important to worry about converting SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA as soon as possible? Starting in 2027, SAP ECC maintenance will no longer be supported. TWO DIFFERENT MIGRATION STRATEGIES 📌 The #Greenfield approach It starts from a gap analysis of the processes compared to the use of the current ERP. It is also a question of building on the new the improvements foreseen by the gap analysis, bringing back consolidated processes and eliminating obsolete ones. 📌The #Brownfield approach More conservative, comparable to a major upgrade operation to convert the current existing system to S/4HANA, while making minor changes.
