Pretty magical to come out of the BART escalator in Oakland and see Ori apartments right in your face.
And yes, I went up this escalator three times in order to capture this moment properly 😊

Watching real estate videos is so…satisfying.
There are the ones about impossibly expensive “luxury” silliness: The NYC supertall penthouses with stunning views, all the generic charm of a hotel packed with pricey “finishes,” and kitchens occasionally used by rent-a-chefs for tax-deductible entertaining. It’s “home as an asset class” for those too rich to belong anywhere. Oh the tens of millions of dollars I have saved not wanting any of those.
There are the videos about Nantucket compounds, shingle-sided homes with with lots of windows and bedrooms, a big country kitchen, the ocean within walking distance (everything else requiring a car and/or ferry). These are built for gatherings, days spent at beach, nights looking at stars, rainy days curled up reading. I never want to own, but sure want to be invited. For the record, I am a delightful guest.
And then there are the “tiny house” videos. This one is outstanding in its tiny field, a house built by a couple of British actors whose take on “adapt and reuse” reflects an understanding of lighting and design learned from years in the theatre.

Furniture re-use is having a moment with Rheaply‘s online marketplace platform waving the circular economy banner for enterprise-level DIY thrifting. But the used furniture market isn’t new. My “French Country” dining room table, paired with four hand-painted chairs, were Village Treasure House finds (with all the money going to support a variety pack of great organizations, too). There are “rebuilding exchanges,” too (https://lnkd.in/gBvp63i6).
But to see how others have put it all together… H’mmm, I’m having an idea for a a magazine, printed, of course, on recycled paper can either be composted or turned into wallpaper. Who’s with me?

Healthy living spaces shouldn't just be limited to the wealthy. However, it's encouraging to see an increasing trend in the installation of air purification systems in luxury homes. This is a great starting point for making clean air accessible to the entire residential market. Check out this article from The Wall Street Journal on the newest must-have home amenity for the rich: purified air. #HealthyLiving#CleanAir#ResidentialMarket#LuxuryHomes
